Skulte Performance

Hi All,
Anyone else have trouble with this vendor? I have been trying to contact him for days now about my order and no emails or phone calls from them and I have already paid! I see he is a vendor on this site and would just like to know when my product will ship?!

Re: Skulte Performance

I'd vouch for him. I think you gotta realize that he is making some if not all of his stuff custom so it might take some time. If he's late on it, their is a reason. He is a trustworthy source and a great contributor to the thirdgen community.

Yeah I think I ordered minea bout a month before you did apparently. I waited a VERY long time.

I'd have been pretty pissed if it wasn't such a nice looking piece.

He apparently is a busy man, he'll get around to it eventually. He's legit, he just makes you wait. It's up to you how comfortable you are with that. I know I was pretty annoyed. But it's a nice piece....

Re: Skulte Performance

Andres is a very stand up guy. If you catch him on the phone, he wont hang up with you until he's sure you have what you need. His products seem to be of good quality. I dealt with him on a few sets of wheel spacers.

Gotta remember...this is still the beginning of the Spring/Summer...prime car building time. So he is probably busiest now.

Re: Skulte Performance

This is kinda off topic, but can or cannot ? a similar X-member with double humps be made for a 4L60E transmission ?

Anyone know why I dont see someone making one ?

Two thumbs up for Skulte! Received my x-member yesterday and it looks amazing. Communication was great, he sent me e-mails to keep me updated. Great guy to deal with.

Re: Skulte Performance

This vendor is starting to worry me a bit with my order. I ordered my crossmember over a month ago and have recieved litteraly nothing regarding this. I have emailed him numerous times over the past month and still have not gotten a single response from him. I understand that he makes these custom and that its not the same as ordering from summit but it is bad buisness to not answer emails, especially when he took his phone number off the website. Anyone spoken to him recently?

Yeah the autos have massive oil pans. There's no room to tuck up the exhaust on either side of them.

I ordered from him on July 8th. After a few e-mails I sent him, he finally responded on July 20th telling me that the x-member was about 4 weeks out. I set him an e-mail yesterday asking if I should expect the x-member next week. Haven't received a response yet. Too bad I couldn't get the x-member sooner, had a buddy of mine ready to line up with me in his Mustang at the East Coast F-bodys Nats!

I ordered a X-member about a week or two ago and now i'm kinda irritated at the terrible customer service. I have from now all over the winter to complete the car so i'm not worrying too much.

Dont listen to a word he says about how far out they are until he tells you they're off to powder coat or are shipping within a week.

He told me they were 6 weeks or so off... then he was saying it'll be about 4 weeks from the current date... and then two months went by.... then I contacted him again and he said they were gonna be done next week, and I could save some time if I elected not to get it powder coated. I wanted it powder coated. A month later I sent him another email, and he responds back saying "I just got several of these done and yours is next. It'll be in powder coat early next week and should be at your door by the end of next week or the beginning of the week after"

And I got it the next Friday. From what I gather he just waits til he gets enough orders, then makes a whole bunch of em at once. But he kept saying they were backed up with orders, and the xmembesr were about a month off for 3 months, and then he apparently made at least half a dozen in one afternoon. And this was a month after he told me that they were about to start on mine, and if I wanted to skip powdercoating it be at my door in a week.

Like I said, if it wasn't such a nice piece, I'd be livid. But at least he got back to me within a day or two most times. I never had any complaints about customer service from them... but I ordered in early January and didnt get it until May 1st. And all of his estimates about ETA's were WAY off... it was usually twice as long as he told me it would take.

But he always got back in touch with me fairly quicky.

He's no con artist... he's just busy, and he makes you wait. It's up to you about whether or not that's acceptable, but honestly... He's the only place you can go to get a pre-made crossmember like that... He's got a commodity in demand over there. A bunch of guys here have rolled their own though.

Re: Skulte Performance

Honestly I only have 2 gripes with the way this is turning out.

#1 Not answering multiple emails or having a phone number which someone can contact you at after they have already spent money on your product is unacceptable.

#2 No where on his website does it say anything about them not being in stock or there being an extreme wait time for these pieces. The only reason I know that I am not getting con'd right now is because of this forum.

I ordered the parts for my swap a month ahead of time so I wouldnt have any tie ups when it comes to waiting for parts, but it looks like that wont be the case and the deadline for my project will have to be pushed back just for this...

Re: Skulte Performance

Sent him another e-mail Yesterday(Friday). Pointed out to him if there's a problem keeping the date, JUST TELL ME!!! Just want the common courtesy of HONESTY!!! I didn't expect to have this custom piece the next day, however I am trusting his word as to an ETA on the x-member. He did offer to "lend" me a non-LT x-member but I opted not to "borrow" it because it wouldn't help the exhaust shop install a system without the proper x-member anyway.

Re: Skulte Performance

I have still not heard one thing from him and I am very annoyed. I placed my order on July 8th. I heard nothing at all on my order so I emailed him on July 27th requesting a status update on my order. After this email I still recieved no email back so I emailed him again on August 3rd trying to get to the bottom of this and I STILL have not recieved one ounce of communication from this guy.

This is starting to get really rediculous.

Re: Skulte Performance

Sent him another e-mail Monday. Told him to ship it next week or forget it. A little tired of the lack of communication. If I don't hear from this guy within the next few days, I'm gonna make an x-member. That's what I should've done in the first place, just too lazy to go pick up the steel and fabricate it.

Re: Skulte Performance

Hi guys,

I apologize, and I really hate making excuses for not keeping you all informed about the status. It's been zero time left over from the day job - I thought I'd be able to keep up, but I haven't. I’ve dropped the ball on my obligation to you all. In any case, this is the last batch xmems I'll be fabricating.

Status update is that I was able to get the material, and cut the pieces for the LT xmems tonight. I plan to drill & slot the pieces tomorrow night. I will keep you guys all in the loop - I've sent a BCC email to you all. I have prototype std (not longtube) xmems that I've offered as loaners until these xmems are fabbed if your cars need to be moved or driven (although loudly w/ open headers!). Just ask, and I'll ship them. I expect to have the xmems fabricated mid next week, and then off to get powdercoated. If you’d like to cancel the order, I understand, and again, just let me know.

For those of you paying via Visa/MC/Discover, your credit card will not be run until the xmems are shipped. Those that paid automatically with paypal, I can refund the payment – let me know if that’s what you prefer.

Powdercoat or no powdercoat – please let me know which you prefer. It’ll save about 1 week. Since this is a small batch just for you all (and not for inventory), I should be able to get custom colors – let me know if you prefer something other than jet semi-gloss black.

If you’re running an alternate shackle style torque arm – let me know, and I’ll toss in some extra box tube and angle iron for the mount, as well as skipping the powdercoat (if you want) so you don’t have to grind it down to weld.

Again, I apologize.

Andris Skulte

Re: Skulte Performance

I won't have internet access for the next few days, but I wanted to give an update now.

Last night I finished slotting the side arms, and milled the angles on all the arms. Next step will be bending the drivers side arm in the 20 ton press, and then milling the center piece, which will get completed Tue Night. Wed night I plan to weld up the xmems, and ship the unpowdercoated on Thur.

Could you take a look at my thread in the transmission section and see if you can't help me figure out what I am doing wrong?

It's now been addressed in the other forum.

I just wanted to let you guys know that I really appreciated your patience with everything. I just picked up the last batch of xmems from our powdercoating place, so that wraps up all of our outstanding orders. Thanks again.

Re: Skulte Performance

I received my crossmember from him last week unfinished, Bare steel, which i did not asked to be shipped. I merely asked how mush long he was thinking it would take then all the supped got an e-mail stating it was shipped unfinished. So i received it bare steel and had to pay an additional $25 to have it powder coated, on top of the $200 already sent to him that was supposed to pay for the powdercoating as well. The piece is very well built but i do not appreciate the lack of communication and the miscommunication we has when we did talk, plus the fact that i had to have the piece powdercoated as an additional fee on top of what i already paid. Not impressed.....
