Autometer, thanks for the help

A while ago I scored a 5" programmable phantom electronic speedo on craigslist for $73!!! Well fast-forward 2 years and I noticed I didn't have the aluminum U shaped bracket that holds the gauge in place.

So I call Autometer and they ship me one completely free. They even ate the $2 it cost to ship and didn't hassle me for a purchase receipt or anything. Big thanks to Autometer!

They look like these only it's the larger one for 5" gauges.

Re: Autometer, thanks for the help

I'm glad someone has had good service from them.
I have over 700 dollars worth of their guages in my car. 2 summers ago I installed a 4th gen dash in my car and redid my guage panel. I had problems with my tac and volt meter. I sent them in for repair. I paid the fee but not the extra 25 dollar expedited shipping option. Autometer is in illinois and I live in wisconsin. after a month I called them. they haddent even looked at my guages yet. I called one a week and it was another month before I got my guages back.

Re: Autometer, thanks for the help

did you call them to get a repair order number first like the box says? If so they gave me a time frame from which I would get the gauges back.

Re: Autometer, thanks for the help

I talked to them multiple times during the whole ordeal. I didn't have the boxes when I sent them in for repair. However I called and talked to a service rep before sending them off. After they had them for a month or so I called and was told they would be fixed and shipped within a few days, every time the date came due I'd call and would be told they hadn't opened the box or inspected my guages. "we will fix them and get the out to you by..." it was a mess.

Re: Autometer, thanks for the help

I have had good experience with their tech support. Had problems with an electric oil pressure gauge earlier this year. After talking with them and going thru the usual troubleshooting steps ( that I had already performed ). They asked me to send it in to them for testing. about 2 weeks later, I received a NIB gauge.

Re: Autometer, thanks for the help

I my self have had Fantastic experience & service.
this last time.
picked up a ProComp play back tack for $150 ($500 tach) had a dint in the bezzel short Cut wires.(goobs)
sent it in to have them refurb it $45 thats with shipping. took 10 days with shipping. tach looks Brand spanken new! refurb and calibrate with new Bezel and other goodys.$45!!

the time before that.I sent them in a hand full of Guages. still NIB
to trade for the ones i wanted. cost Me $20 for them to do the trade.
got the ones i wanted save me $300.

parts store was blowing out all there auto meter parts and guages.
so i picked up every thing they had. picked up $70ea parts for like $9ea
and auto meter traded me out.. now who would do that!

im on the west side of the states to boot

have been running there parts/Guages from back in 1983.in all My hotrods. would never use anything But there stuff!

sounds like you got stuck in a crack of some sort. my self i have never had anything take longer then 2 weeks.

Re: Autometer, thanks for the help

autometer has always done me right over the last ten years. they have fixed, repaired, or replaced a series of ten gauges for me. awesome people to deal with. not to steal anything from autometer but nitrous express was the same.
