Two Thumbs Up for HawksThirdgen!

Hawks Thirdgen is only 125 miles from my house, however I had not been to their faciltiy in Easily SC, until a couple of weeks ago. I have bought items for my 86 over their website for several years with good service and no issues. Kyle and Bruce attend the F-Body Gathering in Atlanta GA every Memorial Weekend, and we had met at the Gatherings when I spent some time admiring (drooling over) some of those fantastic project builds of theirs. A couple of weeks ago I was in Anderson SC to pick up the 82WS7 that I bought with 24,257 miles on her. Since she is original down to the tires she was trailered her home. Easily SC was only 35 miles out of my way, so it seemed like a good time to stop by Hawks Thirdgen to check out the operation and buy some odds and ends for the two garage queens. Bruce came out to the trailer and checked out the 82. He assigned Kyle to assist me with a parts order. The staff are all very freindly and helpful. Both Bruce and Kyle offered some helpful insights about the car, and of course I purchased a few parts for both cars while there. If I had more pocket money, I would have brought home a trailer load of stuff. Their operation is very neat and organized. I have read members of TGO write that Hawks is just a wrecking yard. That is a gross over simplification of the scope of their business. They have new and used items, some salvage cars, and some cars that will become someone's dream project. Their internet business is brisk, keeping several staff busy non-stop. The shop is well stocked and organized. Their tech's seem very knowledgable and were busy making upgrades to customer's cars. The office reminds one of an old style speed shop, however it is all devoted to F-Body cars. Too Cool! They have several projects in process for making reproduction parts for our cars. The reproduction items that they have in stock look as accurate and well made as any I have seen, and I am one very particular customer. These people are F-Body fans to the core, and have made a hobby into a well organized business. As an owner of two trailer/garage queens, my cars probably will not be needing parts as frequently as those who use their thirdgens for daily drivers, or who modify and race their cars. However when I need a part, or if one of the cars needs work that is beyond my scope and abilities, Hawks will be my first choice. They are honest, friendly, knowledgable folks, and of course one of the sponsors of this site.
