Who Makes Roll Cages For Third Gens, Can I Keep Use Of The Back Seat?

I want a roll cage, but I would like to keep the use of my back seat does anyone make kits? If I can' keep The rear seat does anyone know anyone that makes cages for Third Gens? Would I need something to clear the stock door handles? Any pics of Third Gens with roll cages would be appreciated I am trying to find out the best way to do this. Thanks Dave

I know for sure that jegs sells roll cages for third gens. I think Summit may, but I know in the Jegs magazeine they make 6-12 point roll cage.

Kenny Brown has a 6 point "street cage" that allows access to the rear. I don't think its NHRA legal, if that's a problem.

Spohn does, you don't have to remove the back seat to install the cage but you won't have any passengers getting back there either. Helped my buddy install one, got the side bars to clear the door handles, it looked awesome when he was done.

My gawd! I can't imagine using my rear seats, unless I wanted to torture someone. There is less than 2" between the front(driver's) seat and the rear seat cushion.

Just installed my Jegs 8 pt. cage. It was an awesome deal for only $150. A small child might fit back there, but the cage didn't really take up that much room back there. Even w/o a cage, I wouldn't want to sit back there.

Anyone makes a 4 point cage? One that doesn't pass in front of the doors at all?

I am pretty sure Competition Engineering makes a 4-point roll cage, check with Summit I think I saw an ad for one in the magazine.

The coolest cage that I've seen for the thirdgens was in the movie Black Dog. It's a pretty cheesy movie about semi trucks, but there is a thirdgen in there with a sweet cage.

Come on guys, the car in that movie was your typical beat to hell thirdgen wreck. Take any 200,000 mile V6 RS, add Iroc hood and roll cage, put car in car chase/demolition derby, and you've got the same thing you saw on screen.

I'm with Drew on this.. Not much of a screening in the movie, that thing couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding!! Terrible bit of driving too.

this was not a question about what the car was it was what roll cage it had. Do us a favor and if you don't know the answer be quite. Your still bashing a third gen. But I have seen a 6 point that had the rear bars to the shelf behind the rear seat and the 2 mounts right behind and beside the door openings. It also had 2 mounts that were like 6-9 inches inward of the side mounts.

Actually the topic of the car in question came up in the discussion.

Metalifann said: "there is a thirdgen in there with a sweet cage."

sunbound replied: "but that third gen was nice though... too bad what happened too it though"

So I replied to the statement "that third gen was nice", by pointing out a difference of opinion. In my opinion that thirdgen is a joke. So while it doesn't address the initial question, neither did the replies that I was replying to. So you see my comments were on topic with the thread. Besides that Camaro_hunter_d what do you care if I think some junk car used in a movie is a piece of garbage?

PS how can you even tell the cage in the movie was sweet? From what I saw the cage could have been PVC pipe painted to look like a cage.
