Third Gen Resource

After reading many conflicting instances involving this company, I finally have something to add. I had ordered $1500+ from Roy and his wife. Today the shipment finally came in. Here is what I found:
2 used doors, electric accesories complete- good condition
2 front fenders, used- good condition
all new weatherstripping(and I mean ALL)-everything good to go
2 rocker panel ground effects-BOTH BROKEN

I could tell that these had been broken during shipment. I contacted the freight line claims department and then notified Roy. Here is his response:
"Don't worry about it. I have some here and I will go ahead and send them out. I will deal with the claims department and have them pay for the broken ones."
Where is the poor customer service that people have written about on this board? I have been treated well by these people. Is it possible that some customers bring on problems themselves by being irrational? Either way, I say order from these folks. I will be ordering from them again in the near future.

THIRD GEN RESOURCE GETS 2 THUMBS UP FROM ME!

If you paid me $1500 for what you got I'd give you good customer service too.

I ordered frm them too

I ordered a pair of used CAMARO 1988 sport coupe gfx ,rear bumper and dash emblems, and they all came to me in great cosmetic shpe. Only beef I had was that one gfx emblem was missing one peg and the other had no pegs, which no one notified me about. But, a little 3M double-sided tape fixed that. The grille I got from them was also in great shape; needed a cleaning, but excellent nonetheless. I only wish they would've thrown in the screws and clips for it as I'm having a hell of a time getting it on my car. But,I'l order from them in the future cuz they're good people and they have a good business.

TGR has some great parts yea, but things like you just mentioned get on peoples nerves, like the broken stuff during shipping, or waiting 4 months to get a headliner or ordering on the internet and having them ship the wrong stuff cause they don't know their own damn part numbers. They do have a lot of good parts but you H A V E to call them, can't do jack over the internet with them.

thrid gen resource

i recently tried dealing with them and recieved HORRIBLE sevice. i emailed roy to ask him what all came with the ram air II hoods. he wouldnt even email me back with an answer to the simple question. so i called. after four days of calling 2-3 times a day (and nobody answering the phone)i gave up because i realized that my long distance bill would cost more than my hood. so now im buying my hood from hawk's third gen parts.

Not to be a devils advocate here, but he places the order for the hoods and they are shipped from the supplier to your place. He might not actually have any around to let you know what was in them. Call ASCD and ask them. They could probably tell you better. Did you try calling when they are open? They are closed on Mondays and only open after 1 PM. Still, that does not excuse the fact that he did not respond. He could have forwarded you a way to contact the supplier. My experience with them was good. Sorry to hear about yours. By the way, McDonalds screwed up my cheeseburger at lunch today. But I will probably still eat there again.

TGR 2 Thumbs up from me

I have dealt with Roy and Stacey on several occasions and they have been great. No screw-ups and everything was as advertised.

If I need anything from them in the future they will get my business!

2 Thumbs Up !

I ordered some window, mirror, and lock switches from Roy and Stacey a while back. The items came in reasonable time, but they were all tossed in a box loosely, so I can see where people can get broken parts from them because fo shipping. They could have used some better packing, but if I ever need some good NEW parts, I will go back. I was pleased overall.

I ordered a headlamp for the interior and a coolant bottle, it came promptly. Later I decided to order their refinished IROC wheels. I ordered them and got a call from them the next day, he left a message and I needed to call him back. I was freaking out, I was afraid they were out of them. I tried to call him the next day, I admit it was kinda hard to get ahold of him, after maybe 4 or 5 calls I got ahold of him, and he just wanted to know what color I wanted, silver or gold. Back then, their site just listed refinished IROC wheels and the picture was of gold ones, now it lists Silver or Gold. I asked him if he could get the silver ones and said he could, but they wouldn't ship till thursday cause he didn't have any.. I said go silver and he asked what car I was puttin 'em on, told me how he thought they'd look killer. That thursday I got an email that it had been shipped. That was like 745$ for the wheels, great people. Don't see why people have had problems with them... I might come back again if I can scrounge up the money, check out their site, they have a KILLER SALE on SLP headers right now...

Third Gen Resource Appreciation Society

Well you guys are lucky if you have had no problems with Third Gen resource but I am NOT a member of their Fan Club and never will be.

Internet Customers are important too and not responding to e-mails when you are trying to find out about your shipment that has been on order and paid for 2 months ago is simply pathetic.

If I treated my customers with Bad Service then I wouldn't have any left.

I am glad I only sent them $83.00 but I doubt I will see a refund or my goods by the end of this century.

So carry on ordering from them guys,
:lala: because it will be your turn soon.

I have emailed/called them about prices on some simple parts. I found their prices WAY TOO high personally. I asked about an ac condensor(they wanted 55 bucks used, unknown if was broken even) mean while I went to a local yard and got the same part for 10 bucks. System was still charged so I klnew it was a good part. I have asked a few times about other parts, and I have always found that either I can get them cheaper locally, or even www.car-part.com has it cheaper.

I guess I am not one of third gen resource's faithful customers either. I had a problem with an order that was sent wrong, and I had to call them 5 or 6 times just to be able to talk to someone because the reply was always "I'll leave a note for so- and- so to call you back." Did I ever get a call? Nope. Not in 3 weeks. When I did finally get through to someone (I don't know if it was the owner or not) the guy gave me attitude. I ended up losing around 15 or 20 bucks in shipping both ways and some other bull**** fees. Thats not alot of money, but this should not happen. If it were me mistake, fine, but it wasn't, its bad customer service.
I have heard alot of people saying that they have great service, and they're experience was great. I'm glad it worked out for them, but I have the feeling they're gonna get screwed over sooner or later.

Thanks for Nothing

92Blue,

"Getting screwed is only a matter of time" to all out there who think the service that TGR offer is good. (What Service??)

At least you have only lost $20 bucks, I have lost $83.30 (to be precise)

Don't know why the powers that be let them advertise their banner on this site.

I would rather junk my IROC than buy (buy? big £###ng joke, if they don't rip you off first) anything from them.

Other companies that I have dealt with, via or recommended by this site, are honest and easy to deal with. TGR are the BIG exception.

Wish I had read some of the previous posts before sending them my money.

I guess I am a just another victim of their really BAD service.

Hope my $83.30 makes them really happy because I doubt I will see my order or the money that paid for it.

Notice how they don't respond to their critics via this site anymore? Speaks volumes dosen't it.

Not that I am defending TGR, but...... I can (and have) see why they do not respond to negative publicity here. The only thing that happens is they fan the fires of the flame war. Why would they want to do that? It would not be just a simple matter of defending themselves. (as there is no defense for sheer stupidity, what would be the point)

Barney Fife? LOL

How long has it been since you order that stuff?
What state are you in? If your in Illinois I can get you the 2nd in command of the States attourney Generals office. A letter frm them will light an fire TRUST ME. I got some t tops off ebay one time. guy cashed the cashiers check. I sent him a label toreturn the item to me. week, "Oh sorry i was really busy" 2 weeks. " swear it'll go out" month, "huh what are you talking about?" fourtunatley I kept all transactions in written form and recorded. Called my future sister in law(works DIRECTLY under the states attourney) she sent out a letter saying that the state of Illinois is investigating you for instances of mail fraud, and conducting bussiness without a proper license, and a few other things that she came up with that were completely legal to do. The day that the letter was singed for(registered mail) I got an email saying that the t tops were on the way. I checked the Tracking number and yes it was finally active. I said I do not know if the t tops are being sent, I only know that you have used the label I sent you. I asked why the rush all the sudden?, its been over a month since they were supposed to get here?

Well they did arrive, barely. extremely poorly wrapped, they should have gotten broken honestly. UPS does a good job handling fragile stuff though I must say. When I got them the package was falling apart.

I have all good things to say about TGR. I just ordered a T-top weatherstripping kit from them. Two days after I ordered it I sent an email asking if they could rush deliver it. Stacey sent me an email that afternoon saying it was already shipped and that the kit would be here in two days. Well as I was reading the email the UPS guy showed up with my order. So good customer service and fast delivery will keep me buying from TGR. Dan
