F*ck Summit!!!!!

They sent me the wrong f*cking shocks!!!! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRG!!!! Dont ask me why or how, but they sent me the wrong KYB rear gas adjust shocks. The ones I recieved aren't even in their catalog. I didn't even realize it until I had the rear tires off and I started looking at the stock shock. I was so pist. Very disappointed. They shipped them really fast, too bad they were the wrong freakin things. Now I have to send them back, and wait a couple more weeks until I have time to install them. What a bunch of crap. I think they should pay for all of the S&H after that BS. When I called them and told the guy the part number, he repeated it to me, and said "We have two of those in stock." I said, "Sounds great! I'll take both of them." I just hate getting my hopes up. I was crushed. I was like a little kid at Christmas when I saw that big summit box.

I know I'm being pretty hard on them, but It was just a really bad experience for me. Hopefully I'm the only one that has these kind of troubles. Hopefully they'll send me the correct ones as soon as they get these shocks back and I can install the right ones this weekend. Finally vented my anger. Thanks guys.

I know exactly how you feel. I ordered my flowmaster from them and they said it would fit my car, so I said ok. I got it and the Diameter for the pipe going into the muffler was too small. I looked everywhere in town for an adapter and no one had one. I called summit and they said that I was wrong and that muffler does fit my car. After alot more arguing, I finally bought a new one that fit my car.

That's too bad. I've had nothing but great experiences time and time again. I would have to say Jegs has been much more of a headache to me...

Last time I odered from Summit I ordered door weatherstriping. When the box arrived, the p/n on the invoice was right, but the bag the w/s came in had a wrong p/n and said Nova in big letters. I sent it back and told them to refund me the entire amount. The guy on the phone said they would, but they only refunded the price of the part, not the shipping.

My very very first order, I ordered some tune up parts. The MSD rotor they sent me was the wrong one. It was the large rotor for coil-in-cap distributors, and I needed the rotor for the small distributor w/ remote coil. I called them up and they sent the correct one free of charge and even let me keep the wrong one (which did fit in my Z). They've always been great about customer service (even though they'll argue with you even when they are wrong).

Don't get so hopped up over a parts mix-up. If you order from them frequently, it'll happen again eventually. It's a pain in the butt, but something you have to live with when you go through mail-order. I've had three now.

Exactly. All of my friends and myself order alot from summit and are very pleased overall with there fast shipment and low prices. The main problem with mine is that the insisted that I had a TPI instead of a TBI. So I got the part for a 5.0L TPI instead of the one that fit a 5.0L TBI. Has anyone else had this problem?

My most recent experience with Summit involved an Edelbrock torque arm, which arrived without the poly bushing. I simply phoned customer service and the bushing is on its way from Edelbrock. In this case, they were pretty efficient.

I just got my 8.5mm MSD wires from them and they were wrong no fault of their's though, both summit and Jegs gave me a part # of 31409, but the correct part # for a '91 bird with the L03 with small cap HEI and external coil is 31839. I guess the MSD catalog has a misprint. Summit was very cool about it and they are going to next day air me the correct wires, and refund the wrong set even though it's MSD's fault not Summits. So I would say great customer service has takin care of the problem!

OK, so I'm starting to see where you guys are coming from. After the guy at Summit took care of the problem and said he would ship the wires next day air he asked if he was going to put the on the same credit card as the first one I said yes and he even read me the card number. Well UPS showed up at 9:30a.m. with my new wires but with a COD, I work nights and haven't been to the bank yet today, thought I had no reason to have $70.00 on me at 9:30a.m. Now I'm stuck because the next time UPS will either bring the box back or let me go get it is Monday which does me no good I have to have a running car, and of course my local shop wants $19.00 more for the same wires This on top of the guy at Summit telling me that MSD didn't make a cap and rotor to fit my car, and one of the techs there even though I told him my car was a auto gives me a cam for my car that states very clear it's for a manual car.

So far I've had no mixups with either Summit or Jegs in five years of buying but it might bite me tommorrow. So goes mail-order.

I am sorry that you got the wrong part and I am not flaming you so please don't take it that way.

Ever get the wrong part from a local parts store? Its basically the same thing. It is bound to happen. The only difference is that it isn't as easy to return it. but I have had nothing but superb buisness with them. As a matter of fact the last order has been the best customer service ever!

I ordered a part that is back ordered and tried to get an equivilant part by a different manufacturer which was also back ordered the guy told me there was nothing that could be done about it. He calls the next day and talked to my wife and left an extension I could reach him at. I called him and he said that after we got off the phone he did some research and physically checked the shelf and founf the Quantity on Hand was wrong and that they did have one left and he had already taking it and put it on order but held it until he got verification from me to ship it. He tried that night but couldn't reach me then he tried the next day and got my wife then I called him and I was very pleased.

maybe they saw how much I have spent there and said get this guy some lifters.

That I can understand I wasn't upset when I found out the wires were wrong and that the MSD book had the wrong number listed in it for my car, but when I call back and the guy tells me he is going to next day air me the right wires and he will just charge them to the same credit card that the first pair was charged to then just give me my credit on the wrong set, then he sends them COD, which still wouldn't have been a big problem if I knew they were coming that way, but I didn't have $70.00 in cash on me at the time to pay for them, and the next time I could get them would be Monday and I needed the car for the weekend. My local shop was selling the right wires at $20.00 more so I had to go get a regular AC Delco set just so I could run the car.

So you are right mistakes will happen, but when you mess up a second time on the same order that kind of sucks.

If all you need to order is a part number, they will mostly get it right. Asking them for tech help is like asking for the wrong part sometimes, alot of what they say is opinionated and advice, not to mention if they are commision they may steer you to the more expensive part. Simply calling and asking for a part number is how i used to do it, how can they get that wrong?
I no longer mail order. if you go and find a speed shop (I.E. Murrays speed & custom, Horsepower Sales, Etc..) they can get the same exact stuff usually cheaper or same price. somtimes, however, Summit has the lowest prices of all. yes they sell some stuff below cost.

Wahoooo! The new shocks are finally here! This time they are the right part number and they actually look like they will fit. Too bad that during the past weekend the weather was too F*cking cold to try and install them in my unheated garage. I'll have to wait until next weekend. Figures.

Oh yeah. KindtalOn, are you talking about local speed shops?

I can't believe Summit, They have screwed up my order from start to finish. After all the BS I went through with the wrong parts and then the COD I returned everything, my original invoice was $72.44, the and they say they will refund your shipping if you are sent the wrong part, when I checked my credit card statement they only credited back $71.44, they can't even get the right amount credited back. So I called them yet again and explained what was going on to the guy and he gives me attitude on the phone. I understand people make mistakes but they have just made things worse at every turn. At least for me I will be dealing with Jeg's from now on.

The thing that makes me mad about them is they are now shipping out of california AND ohio to anywhere. for me in PA I usually order ground shipping and it gets here in two days. If I ever got next day air, it came in two days even though I paid an extra 20 bucks.

BUT NOW, Whenever I order something I have no idea when it'll come and it's impossible to judge what shipping you need because they don't tell you until after you order where it is coming from.

I ordered two parts at once a few weeks ago with ground. One came from Ohio and was here in 2 days. The other came from california (told me after it was shipped) and got here in 5 days. I needed both parts at the same time to fix my daily driver. I WAS EXTREMELY ANGRY and still am.
