permission to be ignorant?

What benefits do you get from that set up? I'm assuming quicker shifts somehow?

the shifter istels is not sloppy and loose like the stock shifter, you get nice firm shifts, the shift lengh is shorter so less travel = faster shifts, there is less vibration in the shifter, all in all it is a fantastic shifter & I got it for 80 bucks

I bought it from the classifieds, I got a T-handle hurst shifter thrown in for free, but I need the adaptor for it, mine didnt come with an H pattern thing.

it was origionally black but the previouse owner didnt like the look so he polished it chrome

Man, he let me rip his engine compartment to sheds taking out his A/C but didn't bother calling me to help him rip the interior to sheds. Thanks a lot!

Just kidding Sergio, it looks pretty good. Now you just need to post some pics of it completed!

Looks good, I just scored myself the competition plus version (seemed more heavy duty to me that the billet plus) on ebay for $100 unused.

I drove my T5 donor car once and absolutely hated that slushbox shifter those come with. How does anyone drive their car with the stock shifter?

I like the polished look, I may go that route once I get all the swap stuff back together and all the bugs worked out.

well the shifter kicks booty....

but as far as the ****, well, i don't like it. I mean I do like it, but in my opinion it makes it too tall for my liking....

i do like the **** i just think it makes it stick up too high....

just my .02

i envy you....

let me tell you all the **** story lol,

the stock shifter **** didn't fit & I had 15.00 bucks to buy one, my pickings were slim, I like the way it feels and it looks better in person.

I agree it is tall, but I think that is the actually shifters fault because I tried the ball one "rested it on there," and it is about the same height! I am going to drill another hole in the shifter stick so it sits about an inch or so lower, I heard of people doing that and they like the results.

Its no longer available for sale. The billet plus is the replacement. The competition plus is slated for the borg/warner T4 and T5 transmissions.

Here's the pic

There is nothing wrong with it at all. The competition plus is reminds people of old school and I guess hurst wanted to try something new.

The competition and billet are the same height. The reason it looks different is because my car was an automatic and the floor pan is slightly different.

It's actually a bit shorter than the stock shifter.

looking good, now all you need to do is drill a third hole and mount the stick an inch lower. I did this with mine and it REALLY helps....
