Conversion from a 92 to a 89

I am almost finished converting my 92 firebirds gfx to a 89 ta gfx. I hated the 92 style and always loved the late 80’s style so I decided to convert my car. So far it has been a little more difficult than I expected, I had to drill holes for just about every panel because the bold patterns were not the same and had to change out the front and back bumpers to make the covers fit over it. it is now a red car with black gfx with black front and back bumper covers, I want to get my car painted soon this was actually on of the first steps I was going to do before I got it painted but I found it to be quit interesting with the black gfx and a red car but I could do without the front bumper cover being completely black. I still got to get the blinkers and the driving lights and a few odds and ends to complete it but I thought I would share it with every one else. Haha and I already know some of you people are going to say I butchered a firebird but u know what? I don’t care its the way I like it.

most people are going the other way (older to newer gfx) but i like your daring to be different!

Nice job on it, i still like those noses better than mine. btw, you'll have to replace the headlights or the bezels wont you??

EDIT: Duh me, i guess you'll know that because you have to add parking lights next to them.

here is the front view of it witht he old gfx, it has a bra on it and and its pretty much the only thing holding it up, one of the front side gfx is gone and the other one is just hooked one the bra and the front bumper has cracks in it and needed to be replaced and so i figured if i put all this work in to it, it would still look ugly when i could have a 89 style for cheeper and looks better

I would say that most being people with mid 80's going to late 80's. I almost hate the looks of the 92 compaired to the 89(firebirds and trans ams that is).
Looks good man. Looking forward to seeing the pics once it is painted.

its wierd also ever since i put these gfx my car seems much smaller then it use to. its a inch or so off the front and back and keeps the sides closer to the body but for some reason it seems much smaller then what was taken off of it.

The front ends on the 92's look like they shoot out a mile. You will probably be looking at that for a while to get used to it.

Talking about going for the older look, 4mula88 is redoing his car to look like an '84 T/A.

He's got just about all of it done. Just needs a little body work and paint, oh, and the side scoops. That's the main reason I think he's doing it.

Here's a link to Cardomain.com where he has pics and stuff.

thats a pretty nice car. the old gfx and the back cover are in very good condition for the most part. the front bumper cover really is not that bad and can be fixed jsut a few tabs messed up but the main thing is the side front gfx that are pretty much totaled or nonexistant.

I'd ask how much for the GFX but then I'd probably get yelled at for thinking about putting GFX on a Formula.
