Stripe Dimensions Needed
I am in the process of having my 88 IROC repainted and I need some info on the lower stripes. When I bought the car in 97 the owner had removed the lower stripes, and now that the car is being repainted I would like to put the stripes back on. My problem is that I need to know how wide each of the colored stripes are supposed to be, and how wide the gap of body colour is between the two stripes. Any info would be appreciated.

You're painting them back on? Mine are stickers, you could probably find the sticker set somewhere.

Maybe I wasn't clear....no I am not painting the stripes on. I am having a sign shop cut them for me and that is why I need the dimensions. I've already looked into kits, and by the time I pay for the stripes and the shipping (plus dealing with customs) to Canada it would have been cheaper to have the stripes made here.

I work for a sign shop, and I cut my own stripes!!!!
My top/black stripe is 11/16" and the bottom gold/silver stripe is 3/8". I've re-striped my car twice, and I always eye-ball the dimensions, so I'm pretty sure that's not exactly factory, but depending on how good your eye is, I'd bet most would never know the difference. I don't actually know what factory spec is.
Hope it helps.
Keep in mind since a sign shop will cut these out of seperate rolls of vinyl, you'll have to apply each stripe seperately, which is more difficult. No big deal, but it requires more patience. I have a friend who runs a garage, so I put it on a lift. This helps TONS. It's a pain without it, since the 2 stripes are going on seperately, and they're hard to apply evenly.
Did that make sense?

I normally put down 2 gold stripes. The one on the bottom is permanent. I use the second one as a spacer to make sure the I keep an even gap. Of course, I have the luxury of cutting extra striping at no extra charge. Once the black stripe is down, I just remove the middle stripe, and the gap is perfect.
