Aluminum wheel clean-up

When I bought my car from the previous owner, the brakes were worn to the fins and now the metal from that has settled and began to rust on the wheels, inside and out. Is there anyway or anything that might take this crap off without totally ruining the coating on the wheels? They are already getting spider web cracks in the finish, but I don't want to make them any worse than they are. I might try some Eagle One wheel cleaner and a good scrubber. But any ideas would be accepted. TIA

What type of wheels are they.

Best choice assuming they are aluminium and not crome is to strip/paint/polish.

They're the stock 16's. I'd hate to go through that for some factory wheels, lol. And I'd hate to have to use something really abrasive and tear the wheels up any more.

I used to use that stuff to clean the interior of delivery trucks about 6 years ago. Worked pretty good getting the crap from shop floors off the rubber mat in the trucks. I might give it a shot.
