Is it ok to use rattle can priemer on a car? I want to shave the car down and get rid of the old paint..but, I dont have the $ for a paint job right now. So would it be ok to shave the car and use the rattle can primer?

HEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLL NO!! it has no sealing ability, it will rust from under the primer and you can junk the car after that.

Yes you can use rattle can primer. You will have to sand it all off before you do a paint job but it works just fine to cover body work until your ready.
I used it on my car / use it on my car when doing body work. I am never ready or even close to load a gun with real primer and will sand off all the can stuff before I do paint.
Bare exposed bondo or body work will last longer if covered up till your ready.
Do your body work and go nuts with the spray can. Just make sure and sand it all off before you do a real paint job.
Everything has its place if you use it right.

OK, no, i work at a body shop, so i know about this a little ...
Might as well leave the bondo bare, cuz moisture will crawl up behind the primer and will get to the bodywork regardless, do what i did, get some primer thats made to seal, like i sprayed on teh front half of my IROC after my accident, utec 2K100, nothing gets under it and sand it down and paint over it, but it is a 100 bucks a gallon and you will need a nice paint gun with the right primer nozzle to spray it...but rattle canning it will just make more work, if ur into that, then go for it...

If your just going to primer the car and park it, then yeah rattle can primer is ok, but DONT drive with it on the car...Charged 350 is right, rust can form under primer, but it takes a while...my car sat in a dry garage for 3 months in primer (i painted it at school and had to wait a quarter before i could put on topcoats) its ok, but i didnt drive it, or do anything with it really...the spray can primer will create more work for you later on, you will have to be careful that your top coats dont lift it up, if that happens you will need to get a real primer.
*edit* my car had dupont 4004 primer on it, not rattle can, but a good rattle can should be ok eather way
