what are your takes on this wing?
saw this ad in Chevy High Performance. looks like the Daytona Charger wing. what im wondering is what it would look like on our cars, and how many inches it is tall and specs. like that. does anyone know of someone with this on thier car? now i know im gonna get major 3 degree burns for this but i was thinking it would look good to even out my car when i get the 3 inch cowl hood. (gets ready to duck under the crossfire)

You are going to have to duck 6' deep in this forum prolly. I don't like it and wouldn't put it on my car if I was getting paid to do so.

that wing looks bad. It doesnt match anything. maybe, and i mean maybe , if you did something to your car to set if off u may pull it off , but i dont think so . I think it wil look bad no matter what you do , but prove me wrong, get it and make it look good.

I don't like it in that picture, but I'd like to see a different picture of it in color.

yea thats what im wondering is how tall it is. they dont have a website and they only have a # to call to order no questions and a email to order a catolog. im only interested in it because with a 3'' cowl it'll bring a alot of attention to the front but with something eye catching (not sure it would be GOOD eye catching according to the replys so far) but it would even out the appearence from front to back with out one particular piece standing out. like flynlow's camaro, with a larger hood like that it would draw alot of attention to the front but with that wing it levels out the appearence. edit again: yea it is a bit pricey i would hate to pay $500 just to end up not likeing it so im trying to get the specs to make something that will look like it so i can look at it first without buying

I think we should leave it for the Mustang boys!!! That thing would do wonders for the performance and looks of their rides

I saw one of those installed a Camaro driving on the highway awhile back.
I almost crashed I was laughing so hard. seriously.
Things like this give third gens a bad name.
To each his own, I guess.

that wing does look too tall. What about using a Camaro Highrise spoiler? Another member, Deadbird, had one on his car for a while and it looked sweet. It'd definitely match well with the 3" cowl hood. Kinda fitting... Deathbird may get an idea from Deadbird.

Well if you were driving a import burner it would probably impress other import boys considering they seem to love the extremley big wings but your driving a 3rd gen... it would catch a lot of looks but not good ones.
It wouldnt let me say the R word I guess, although I wouldnt have meant anying racial about it, I dont think its right to call cars with wings like that imports because most people who drive imports dont make their cars look dumb its just the people who do insane things to their cars who deserve the name.
But im still a domestic man!!!

it seems pretty tasteless to me... in order for that wing's design to be cohesive with the rest of the car, you'd have to have one of those ferarri-emulating bodies on it; not saying that would look good either, just saying that the wings design would stick out like a sore thumb on all but the most drasticly modified thirdgens, and such cars probably won't be too aestheticly appealing...

Maybe oldbluezz will be kind enough to snap a pic of his wing. It looks like that one and he has a LED third brakelight in it. I've seen it in person and it looks awesome.

Evidently he does! Why else would he be looking for other's oppinions? Who want's to look stupid in the eye's of their peers?
I've seen a triple winged third gen. in Beaver creek Oh. and man, it looks soooo stupid I couldn't help but LMAO. I believe he's trying to avoid that oppinion from other third gen. owners.
Some camaro's have that tall wing and it doesn't look any better on it than it did on the 70 Charger Daytona!

Dude, if you want an F40 wing, don't get on SOOO freakin tall. No offence, but the Wings West (the import guys) F-40 wing looks MUCH better cuz it's a lot lower. That's the one I found sitting in the back seat. The cowl hood does set off the wing like you were thinking, but I don't think the hideous one you posted would be able to be set off very well. Oh yeah, I think the WW is only $400, not 5. Sorry to be so rude and cruel, but that one is really that bad.
This looks much better:
and my favorite shot:

Thanks.
Yeah,
I believe it's http://www.wingswest.com It's the universal F40 wing. That's the closest thing that anyone has found so far. I was not the one who bought it, but it seems to be right. It even has the LED option (for third brake light).
The best thing to do would be to measure the rear deck and call them to figure out if you need the 51 or 53 inch. I just don't know where they measure from for that and it could be either one (IIRC).
Try that and see if it works.
Don't forget the hood to set it off. I don't know what it'd look like without one, but I don't think it'd look right, and I dunno what it'll look like on a bird.

Personally, I don't like that wing, my brother in law had on on his fourthgen and it looked like you could hang the camaro on a coat rack. To each his own.

That's a custom setup.. kinda hard to exactly duplicate.
And yes, mechamwingedta, many of us wish we had MRMSE wings
