Can I polish this?

I wanna remove my stock intake and customize it into 3" exhaust piping, and then polish it.. can u polish pipes that are used for exhaust? If not does anyone have any other idea that is reasonably cheap...

cant spend alot of money. me and my friend are going to rent a 3 car garage and paint our cars and rebuild our engines over a few month period.. he has a eclipse but he's a good guy and he is providing all the tools needed to preform the painting so... i cant complain

remove some of the plastic look and add some chrome
woohoo

The question basically was if exhaust pipe could be polished to a shiny finish - the answer; depends on the pipe. You can get it shiny-er but most likey not mirror like - it may have a good gloss but with imperfections. I've gotten all kinds of crap to shine with Mother's Polish and a Dremel, so go for it

Ohhhhh, it just clicked. Your removing the stock intake airbox, not the "stock intake."

check the net for aluminum pipe it can be polished to a mirror finish. look under turbo parts cause thats what they are used for, you might even get lucky and find the exact bend and length.

Exhaust piping would be way too heavy, go with the alum. or thin wall SS.

If you do use exhaust pipe, make sure its stainless. If you use aluminized you will polish all the aluminum off and the exposed steel will rust. You could get it powder coated, or some hi-temp paint will wotk too.
