Car: 1991 pontiac firebird
Engine: 305 V8 flo-pro exhaust
Transmission: automatic 700r4 4speed
Axle/Gears: stock 2.73's :(
hatch doesnt close down all the way (pics)
i love my car but its reallly startin to make me pissed that the trunk will not close down all the way it had a hatch pulldown motor but it died and when it was workin it still wouldnt go down all the way heres some pics i need some help

Check the rubber stoppers under the tail panel. Also, try lowering the actual hatch motor. That's all I can think of right now.

Your car kind of looks naked. Just kidding my 90 does this also it is kind of intermitent. It does it sometimes sometimes not. The motor seems to be realy slow. I've owned mine since it was new and can tell the difference, it used to pull down faster and harder. Now it seems like it is laboring.

Mine does the same....went down finally one night while in the garage and I havent opened it since......that was in September....I needa get off my lazy butt and get to fixin it so I can too open mine.....

yeah i lowered it as much as i could it helped out a little bit its way lower but still has the gap i guess getting a new hatch motor is the solution for it to go down all the way?

definately talk to Lon at TDS you tell him what it's doing and he'll tell you what you need. Cause new complete pulldowns arent cheap. Changing just a gear or motor is alot cheaper. He carries all the parts to repair them I'm pretty sure.
