Think i made it official. Time to sell. plz read

havent posted in weeks. my last thread to which i didnt have time to reply b/c it got locked was about whether u'd sell ur car or not b/c of the gas prices. i believe all of u who replied said no u wouldnt. well for me i think the time has finally come. not just b/c of the gas. it seems ive just totally lost interest and i hate seeing my car in the condition that its in right now, starting to look like a POS. it needs work. mainly paint, body, and a few other things. these cars are a constant project and i just rather not spend money on it anymore. for the first time i can actually say i would like to be more comfortable in a car. no loud exhausts, working A/C, smooth suspension, gas efficiency, etc. i have a friend (female) who recently aquired a mid 90s saturn (dont laugh) in really good condition. i am motivated now to take more care of that car. the paint is still good, never in an accident, everything works, and we just put a new head unit in (and plz dont think i will be rice-ing this thing). yea its slow as ****, but i dont need something fast to prove who i am. if i wanna go fast i have a couple crotch rockets i can hop on. ive had so many good memories in this car. it will always be part of me. but ive put very few miles on it in the past few months. it just sits there, pretty much collecting dust. its sad, and keeping it and getting another car is just not possible.

check out the last 2 pages of my cardomain site for the most recent pics. the car is back to being almost all stock. i would like to get opinions as to how much u guys think i can get for it. i also have that spare 350 TPI motor that i was working on, that i will sell too. basically its all stock, i just did all the seals/gaskets, new oil pump and timing set, and rebuilt stock heads.

if anyone has questions about the car feel free to post. thanks for reading, and thanks to my bird for always being there for me!

I dont care how high gas prices go if I have to sell a kidney to still drive the greatest car ever made I will, ac who needs it, and loud exhaust and squeeks and rattles that just makes the experience of driving better

I'll give you a running 1990 RS Camaro, a remanufactured L98 350 engine, long tube headers, complete TPI system, chambered exhaust, and $1200 for it.

or if I was just some random guy, $4000 ?

i wouldnt want anymore thirdgens for now. lol.

things to note:

odometer - actual car has 176k something miles. the gears on the odo broke, tried a new cluster, still the same problem. right now i have another cluster that i havent had time to test. so the odometer has been stuck at 176k, but like i said ive barely driven the car since gas went up. i bought it with 112k miles.

motor and tranny are not original. no idea when this motor was replaced. the tranny is from another bird and i put it in. has a shift kit, vette servo and some other crap. its not built or anything. i just told the guy to do the basic mods.
the stock 083 heads i put on about 2 or 3 years ago. i didnt realize i had bought it with truck 350 heads.

hood is bent at the front. spoiler is trash, cracked in a few places. bumper also has some minor damage.

power antenna doesnt work

didnt come with rear defroster

the ZQ8 rims would go with the car

A/C parts are installed again, but freon is leaking from somewhere, so the system is inoperative

radio works, headlights go up and down, rest of the electricals also work. thats all i can remember for now. car runs and drives great so there is no mechanical reason for what im considering. i have a few friends who all owned thirdgens so they can vouch for me taking good care of this car. and if it matters, best i did at the track was 14.4 @ 96mph, back when i was in my racing phase.

u know what i get what u mean, acouple years back i was thinking the same thing but the diffrence with me was there was no way i could sell me thirdgen. so i kept my camaro and bought a 2005 lancer ralliart, at first i was luving it, the smooth ride, new interior, quiet exhaust, and lets not 4get the cold AC, ect. but trust me u will miss your thirdgen after time passes. i only drive my camaro on nice days ect and turst me i luv those days lol. anyway what im getting at is why dont u just keep your thidgen and buy a "normal" car, have the best of both worlds. By the way i checked out your cardomain site and your thirdgen dont look that bad at all, forsure not no piece of $hit.

Nice car. I'd give about $3,500 for it if I were in the market.

But I just HAVE to say that you're going to regret this ...

Have you ever sold a car you've loved before? I just posted in another thread yesterday that I sold my '95 Impala SS to buy a 2004 Chevy Silverado. The truck is a nice, smooth ride with all the bells and whistles, but I would give two of them to have my Impala back now.

im sure i'll probably regret it. but i can always get another one in the future. maybe something that wont require a lot of work. thats what i want really. something that isnt a project.

and no ive never sold a car ive loved before. but this thing just sits there. literally getting beat by the sun each day. and like i said going fast isnt important to me anymore. so no more V8s for a while.

btw if anyone in this area is interested in that spare engine lemme know. thanks for the replies. keep 'em coming!

Sounds like a wise choice. If I didn't enjoy working on my car I'd sell it- it's not a wise investment when there are so many other cars that require less maintenance and cost less in general (insurance, gas, etc). I just drove a new Hyundai Sonata and I wish my car had that luxury, the thing is fast too! I'm actually motivated to make my car a bit smoother to ride in, I'm searching for quiet exhaust, getting comfy seats, etc.
