Possible to hide charcoal canister?
I was wondering what some of you were doing to hide your charcoal canisters. Also, do they have to be vertical? Can I lay the system on it's side and it still function properly without leaking any fuel/vapors?

Mine is still in it's stock location(and it will probably stay there). But i wouldn't see any problem mounting one horizontally. They are just moving fuel vapor and not liquid. If you look under a '95-'97 S-series Jimmy/Blazer you will see the charcoal canister is mounted in the rear on the left hand side(this is where it is on my '95 Jimmy 4DR/4WD).

Gotcha.
Didn't think that was a mandatory piece, you're tailpipe emissions shouldn't really be effected by it; guess it's for the visual inspection or something?

The only reason I'd like to axe my emmisions *****, is to clean up my engine bay, and make it easier to wrench on.

Some 4th gens(if not all), but i think its mostly the years prior to the plastic tank(mounted on the tank itself).Have them mounted in the space just next to the gas filler. If you remove the plastic cover on your car that hides the filler neck.Youll see theres enough room.Thats where Im going to mount mine.Ive already got the mounting strap froma 4th gen thats holds the canister in place. It just requires a simple bracket(Which Im copying from the 4th gen)to mount it.The only thing thats holding me back the smog man.Since this is a visual no no.
