I live in the moutains... So I see a lot of rusty camaros, the only nice one I have seen besides mine, is a white and blue one, which is almost Identical to mine minus louvers and 700-R4...
honestly around my area of long island, i hardly ever see a thirdgen anymore, in any color....it's weird b/c I've always had the mind set they were a dime a dozen, but that is far from the case now. Since I have got one(alittle over 3months now) I could probably count on my hands how many I've seen around here, and thats including my buddies 89RS. I think there geting rarer, maybe that is just this area though
i have seen a few around here, usually see more mustangs than anything though... i know of one all blue camaro, one black primerd camaro, and mine which is no longer blue/silver gfx its blue/greyprimer/red valance pieces! dont see to many on the road

Right theres so many of them, but I hardly ever see any thirdgens either were I live I meen theres a few, but most of them are pieces, I think most of them ended up in the junkyard or something
I'm from long island too and seeing a 3rd gen is not usual....i always see 4th gens though all the time
lol, i know what you mean, you can usually hear them all before you see them too, there pretty cool, but it's a nice suprise when you see another thirdggen fly by every now and then.

Well if thats the case, I wish they were in the junkyards by me, they got crap here, and they charge you and arm and a leg
I remember when I bought mine back in 1989...it was red, that's you ever saw around was the reds, blues, blacks, burgandy...etc. So I decided to paint mine yellow in 1993 because no-one had that color where I lived, The car definately did get alot of looks in my town...next thing you now a buddy of mine decided to paint his '87 Trans am yellow...damn copycats!
i never realy noticed other camaro's till i got mine now i can pick out eactly were every ones camaro's sits outside there seeing i am in waste managment i know were people park and i know my whole towns streets back and forth , so i learned were they all sit and what kind of body condiction is in camaro's and firebirds cant forget the birdys
did they even make "silver" 3rd gens? ive seen plenty of grey ones....
Gunmetal Grey is kinda silver-ish
In my opinion, the rare colors out there are:
-That sunset orange color that was only offered like 1 year on the IROC-Z
-Teal
-Purple
-Gunmetal Grey
-Ultra Metallic Blue
-Any true heritage package (white/red, red/black, black/red)

Here's a pic of a sunset orange metallic so everyone can see what we're talking about.

My dad used to own a silver 85 iroc with a h.o. 5spd<= rare. Sold it for $800 too. And I almost bought an yellow 87 Iroc. until i figured out how much insurance was lol. But I am pretty sure i've seen all other colors in person included the ones listed.
The color that people are refering to is Medium Orange Metallic, only offered in 1988. Sunset Orange Metallic is the 4th gen color. Heres a pic of my car, still original paint.

Here's another pic of a green Camaro here. Was a PPG mix but I lost the codes so I dunno what they are anymore (but dosn't matter because the car is being painted again).
here is a pic of my sebring silver Z28. Not org. color. The car use to be burgandy. I just used the same paint code used on the 4th gen Fbodys for this color

In 1982, 29,2xx Silver Metallic Camaros were produced. This was second only to White with 29,4xx produced. There ought to be one or two out there some where still running.
I have one of the white ones in my garage. It appears from the color breakdown on camarosource.ca for 1982 Camaros that the rarest color( other than the Indy Pace Car color scheme) is the Light Jade Metallic, followed by the Dark Jade Metallic and then Gold Metallic. Light Jade was apparently only available on Sport Coupe and only about 1100 were produced. Wonder how many of those are still around
Both Jade colors were only available for the 1982 model year. Guess those colors just did not sell well enough to keep around.
Silver Met. was available on IROC's in 85 only. I suggest that silver and silver met. are two different colors. At any rate, for the number of "silver" Camaros produced from 82-88, I'm surprised I've never seen one.

While i see an ocasional 92 in my color (purple haze) theyre usually not in that good condition.. A buddy of mine has a Jade Grey GTA too, which is kinda rare at that.. so when we get our colors together its kinda neat.
I think ive seen 3 in my color around my area, sooo...
here's an example of my car..(as though you guys havent seen it enough already)
I have a yellow camaro and not many people have that color around my area in general. I have never seen a forest green or even just a green 3rd gen in my area. Oh yeah,BOTTLEDZr28, nice black strips on the road. vbmenu_register("postmenu_3182685", true);
The most common thirdgen color around my neck of the woods is the ultra-rare "4-tone" job where the majority of the car is flat black but has a blue door, a red hood and a maroon spoiler.
Seriously, I have one of only three NICE thirdgens around here. The other two are Camaros. One has 85 orig. miles (what a waste). All the other thirdgens around here are crap.
