Anyone have pics of a camaro with the stock Z28 hood with louvers with heritage racing stripes? I was thinking about just sticking with my hood if the louvers will look pretty good with the stripes. Doesn't matter color just preferred stripe color is black. Thanks a million.

Honestly I wouldn't put any strips with the louvers. I would leave the look ofthe Iroc lovers by its self. Cause the black louvers will overwhelmed by the stripes if they are black.
hey 89IROC2NV, you iroc looks great. i love the orange and black combo. your right the louvers do fit very well with the stripes. thats the best ive seen yet.
do you have strips that go up and over the top or are they hood and decklid only? if they go up over the top, do you have pictures? I'm lookin for that exact stripe patten for my 85 Z project and i was wondering if it would look goofy for full length stripes. i got a friend who can edit the colors for me so all i need is a profile. Thanks for the pictures!
I think as long as the color of the louvers match the color of the stripes, it won't look too overwhelming.
I've seen someones car on TGO that had the black louvers and some other color stripes... didn't work IMHO.
Here's mine, even tho it's not the Heritage stripes.
i got to tell you, every car should be different, i cose my pattern this way because i think it looked good for my particular tastes, and that is what you should do. think about what yopu would like to see on your car, and go with it, my stipes do ont continue on the roof as i have t-tops and only a small section of painted roof is there, i origionally did paint the stripes on there, but thought it looked bad, and sanded and resprayed but its all about personal taste, send me a pm with your email and i will send u a couple profile shots of my hood and deck

Im not trying to steal your look, or anything, i've actually been thinking of heritage stripes for years now, but i also love the look of my Z's louvers. anyways i think my friend is gonna take a while on the two pictures you've already posted. I'm going for a black car with green stripes and black louvers. I havent really thought about painting them the same color as the stripes though. It really looks good on Gman's car, i guess i'll make my decision when my friend gets done working his magic. I'll try to post them when he gets done. Thanks for your input.
well where are the louvers? you gunna keep em black or goin green? BTW I like the color scheme, post some pics when she's all polished and out in the sunlight!
I'm gonna keep em black since the color green that I wanted it painted was a custom color and he used it all on the stripes. But against a black car that shouldn't be too bad. The car's still at the paint shop but i can't wait to get it back and put some lights in it and stick the louvers on to take some pictures... Thanks for the pattern, I was trying to mimic stock stripes with a custom color.

hey the car looks great. I like the color scheme to. Post more pics. -Matt
Ask and ye shall recieve...
First off this is a ground up rebuild so I pretty much stripped down my project car to the unibody to get it painted. I wanted to take an old blue Z and paint it black. Then I decided if I'm gonna do that I may as well just stick a 350/6-speed in it while all the wiring is handy plus a few other toys (cruise, leather seats, big stereo)...
Here's some pics of the car when I got it and pre-paint at the paint shop.
thats some good progress. Makes me miss my 86 IROC. lol i hope to one day have another third gen
