(Need ur opinions) - Bought a few sets of new valve covers. . .

Iv been trying to decide on a set of covers for sometime, i just ended up buying the two styles that i liked so i could see them in person. keep in mind i have no air cleaner so that may or may not make a difference.

Here is what i have on my car now. stock i hate the look of the pcv valve and filter! on the other sets since theres no holes i plan on running a crossover in the rear so its less noticeable

I liked this set its smooth a bit stock looking but only thing i would do to these is tone down the polish so they match the rest of the engine

I like the tall covers. The first ones just look like a stock type cover, no 'wow' factor.

I actually like the painted stockers! Can I ask where you got those centerbolt wire guides?

Thanks

I like the fabricated covers! They look like they mean business. If they were mine I would take the plug looms off them, and run them under the headers, or get looms that bolt to the header bolts. Nice looking engine bay!

I like the last set, and leave the welds. If you smooth them out, might as well just stick with the 2nd one.

The Fab's look the best, although the others look good too! The Fab's just make the engine look bigger! Meaner!

Chalk up another vote for the roof-esque fabricated ones, but if they don't fit for you (I wish they fit with TPI!) then the smoothed ones are a nice touch.

Re: (Need ur opinions) - Bought a few sets of new valve covers. . .

I was just browsing through a link you posted in another thread and ended up here, looks great. Just curious, how are you going to run a pcv system with those covers? I understand they arn't the prettiest things, but they sure help keep the inside of the engine lookin good too. Keep the crankcase unvented and the blowby gases will eventually vent themselves somewhere (oil leaks) not to mention all the nasty buildup that will develop inside over time.. How did you over come that? I guess is doesn't matter that much if this is just a show car that get's trailered everywhere and doesn't see much run time.. don't think I'd ever consider not running a pcv system on daily driver though( or a weekend cruiser).. What did you do for an oil fill hole?

I was asking him to link his engine thread, I'm curious to how he's going to set up his pcv system. I'd assume he's going to add a hole to each valve cover and hopefully some kind of baffle. Can't really think of any other way to do it and have it work correctly. I saw similiar fabricated valve covers to those on ebay quite cheap and they seemed fairly well constructed. The only problem I saw with them was the lack of anyway to put oil in or add a pcv valve and breather. I mean anyone could obviously drill a hole and stick some grommets in but the holes would lack a baffle which could lead to oil consumption. I guess baffled grommets would help, but I'd personally like a baffle at least as good as the crappy factory covers have.
ps: I only show 1 page, maybe my brower setting allow for more posts on 1 page..

I think he ment that as a structural thing. It's possible that they may crack along the welds if you smooth them out.

the fabricated set you chose are the best. Looks killer. Do you think they would work if you have the standard high mount alternator?
