Front bowtie mod......

I was wondering if anyone has tried to make the red bowtie in the front grille "light up"? Like maybe cutting it out and putting red LEDs behind it or maybe a red lens with white LEDs behind the lens?

Im getting red halos for my new headlights, and thought that might complement them. What do you guys think?

Re: Front bowtie mod......

Keep in mind, that red lighting on the front of a vehicle is illegal in all states. (If you are going to do it, make sure it is switched off on any public roadway. That said, I want to see it! Do it!

Re: Front bowtie mod......

I thought about that, and i would wire it to the same switch as my red halos, whitch would only be on when i want them to be.

Re: Front bowtie mod......

Seems like a really cool idea, if you can pull it off in a subtle way.

Re: Front bowtie mod......

Sounds like a good idea to me! I would suggest using some of that EL string. Its flexible like 18 gauge wire, and glows nice and evenly along the entire length. You can either glue it on top of the emblem, or drill small holes in the corners and thread it through the holes so it follows the contours of the emblem.

Post pics if you do go through with it

Re: Front bowtie mod......

Im still trying to figure out how to pull it off without making it look like 89rs said...(civic with neon).
My grille is pretty much trashed anyway from someone mounting a license plate bracket on it, so I figured "what the hell.."....i just figured it had been done before......
