strobe lights/underbody kit
Hey guys,do any of you have strobe lights on your car? if so do you have the control module for it and do you have a video clip of your car with them on? I was just thinking if i should get them or not, my parents said they would buy em for me for Christmas if i wanted them. They also said they would buy me a underbody light kit, do any of you guys have pics of that? and is there a way thati could set them up so that if my GFX scraped the ground for some reason, the lights would be fine? cuz i help my friend put them on his car and i looks awesome, but his car isn't that low to the ground, so there safe.
Thanks, Ted

I have a strobe in the nose of my RA Hood. It drew pretty big attention when I turned it on, even had people come ask were I got it. I plan on getting a 6 plug Whelen strobe kit for my car, plus a red underbody neon kit.
You can tuck the neons up higher then the ground effects so they won't get smashed if you bottom out.

I have a green streetglow gold series underbody kit under my 91Rs..it looks great..in ny tho their' illegal to have on while yer drivin...i do anyways..they'll make people look at nite..they look great..the install wasnt too complicated. Streetglow is the way to go. Took me an afternoon to do, including rippin out a previous one that sukt. As for height clearance, if u run soemthin over by accident they have a chance to break(one of mine did...but convered under warantee). The bulbs are coverd in a strong lexon plastic so they wont get broke by rocks.Go here for the best price..cheapest u can get http://cardiscountstereos.com/

i will agree with KCobain147 there, streetglow is the way to go. If that site he talks about is reliable; that's a good price as well.
I have 2 underbody kits; a few strobes here n there overall inside an out about 50' of neon. I think you should do it if you like, it's a definate attention getter.
difference between the gold and the blue line is the warranty first off; gold series actually has one that is worth something. second would be installation; blue series tubes have a transformer for each tube making it not only a hassle, but not as easy to use. where as gold uses one main transformer and you wire the tubes in series.
as well as gold series tubes are a lot more durable as well as brighter than the blue series.
most people on this board are against this topic, so email me if you have any more questions or go to www.streetglow.com and use their message board. a lot more useful info there.

Neon was real cool for about 2 weeks at the end of the 80s. I went through my neon phase on my old firebird and I cringe every time I think about how retarded I made that car look. I guess that means I'm getting old. When I see a car with neon or any of that other flashing disco crap, I immediately associate the car with a teenage owner. I guess my tastes have just matured and I no longer find interest in the peubescant image.

I have blue strobes in my back-up lights in the back of my Z28, It really messes with people cuz it looks exactly like police lights. Also I had a Neon Green underbody kit on my bug. My bug has airbags so scraping was a problem for me. I mounted the tubes onto plexiglass and then mounted the strip on plexiglass under the car. As Companies and where to buy. My strobes were $7 off ebay with control module and gel caps for 5 different colors...My neon kit was off ebay also. It was made by reactor...Looked reallly good. All colors are $69 plus shipping except for black light which is $89...All in all its a very good deal...Easy to install...

Those of you that have strobes... where did you get them and how did you wire them up? I want to get strobes but for security purposes, hidden in my interior, under the engine bay, and in the trunk. (Most theft occurs at night, and if the alarm goes off and the strobes go off as well, they won't be able to see so good methinks, plus it would draw attention.)

Issues with CDS..be careful..one of my bulbs broke, and they only warrantee for a year. Supposedly streetglow has a lifetime warrantee on their bulbs, so i guess i gotta go to them now. I'll keep you guys posted

I have strobes on my headlights and revers lights, but only because I'm a certified EMT and use it to answer calls quicker with the flashing lights. As for using it for aesthetic reasons i think strobes is def not a good idea but neons if done correctly would look good
