I'm going to buy one of those Jongbloed style hoods this summer too, and when it arrives I am going to immediately cut it up . There are some major modifications I want to do to one, but it will definately make a great starting point for what I have in mind. I plan to put it on Hugger³, at least to start. Not sure whether it will stay on Hugger, or if I will move the one on Blue502 to Hugger and put it on there (may need more clearance at the front than my current hood provides when I put tpi on the 502).

Hey, We shut down for a week to some fishing in the keys nothing but me a fly rod and a beer Anyway this week we are going to hit the Jongbloed style hood hard. I would post pictures of the progress but I don't have a clue on how to post pictures here. Oneother ?? how far (if any) do you guys think the cowl part should hang off the back of the hood? also we need a name for this hood!

I'd like to see it hang back as far as my hood on Blue, since it would save me work later. But even if you don't go that much, I'll still buy. Here is a pic that shows what I mean:

Thank *** you are finaly starting on the Jongblod hood. I have been waiting on this hood since talks of having it made were brought up in mid July. When do you think you are going to have it ready? I need a hood bad,I'm so tired of the trailor park hole look.

I think you should hang it over like blue502's hood, i have seen that car in person, and the way the hood hangs over makes it look REAL nice.

I also think you should have it hang over like blue502's, that makes them look sweet, just think of having them stick straight up! That would look horrible

Another question. Are you going to replicate the factory underhood bracing (in fiberglass) in the non-cowl areas?
Will the hood be strong enough to use factory struts? This is one of the things that I hear people complaining about all the time about their hoods. Mine is strong enough that I can use stock (read plain steel hood) struts, and I really like that fact.

The under side will look like the underside of our firebird hood. man I wish I could post pics here i need step by step info on posting pics. I know everyone says it is easy but I have a hard time turning on my pc.
We do send a prop rod with the hoods and suggest you use it but I have been using my factory struts and have no trouble. We do add extra glass in the stress areas. I think the early 80s camaro factory fiberglass hood used weeker struts this should work fine. I will see about getting a part ## for the best struts to use.

Pictures are easy,
when you post, there is a button on the top that says, IMG, click it, type in the URL of the picture you want to post,
and that is it.

Or if you have the pictures on your computer, click browse at the bottom of the reply page to attach a pic right off your computer, just hit browse, cycle through your hard drive, click the pic, and hit post reply and your all done.

As for all these aftermarket hoods, I think they look like something George Lucas would have created if he had used third gens in his movies. Way to extreme in my opinion... they make the car they're on look like a carnival ride.

I was going to buy that really wide cowl hood before...but then I found a extra hood for 50 bucks. And I just did a custom job instead. (pic in sig)

Well the real reason I put that wing.....is cause I'm a rice boy... haha...but I have noticed some extra stability when racing. And its all probably coincidence...but I drift better with teh wing on the back O_o haha....its probably just in my head. Or maybe not....cause when I choku dori *straight line drifting* It atcually feels more stabil....cause I slide at like 45mph...so maybe its helping? ah hell I dont know its just for looks I'm a rice boy. haha
