I think 3" is plenty, i wouldn't buy one with any more than 3.

personaly after seeing blue502's car in person, i LOVE the way his hangs over like that, i say try to make it hang over close to the same amount as his hood does.

i am not sure abou the hood blisters yet, i would have to see what it looks like before i could decide if i like it or not, it really depends on how the whole hood comes out looking.

3 is more than enough, not hang over to much, I don't want it riding on top of my windshield.

Just so you know, that isn't a Jongbloed hood, its one Lance had made by a guy in Portland, oR (if memory serves me correctly) The hood Lance has is probably like one of the only of its type in exsistance.

Andy89RS has a real Jongbloed hood.

I'd like to see it stay as close to the appearance of the original as possible. Does anyone know how tall Andy's is? 3" almost seems too high, but then again, it's legal in DE so i don't care. As for the back, i agree, make it similiar to blue502's. Any ideas on pricing or when it'll be ready? I'd like to be able to buy it by my Birthday in May if at all possible (I have no idea how long these things take). Either way you can garantee that if it comes out close to the original i WILL own one.

Taking Blue502's idea = not spiffycool...

I think the original Jongbloed Hood should be made (a la Andy89) ... not a knockoff of a one of a kind hood that was made custom for one person only...

But thats me...

Because personally... I like the idea of not using louvers/blisters with a hood (which is why i'm not upgrading to a newer hood or a turbo style hood with louvers on it hehe) ...

But I suppose maybe you could make two types... just as long as you run far far away from Blue502's hood (because I don't think he'd like that too much but I might be wrong ... but I doubt it)

I would like to see it go back close to the windshield like most other cowl hoods. Let us know when its available, you will surely get my cash for one without blisters.

I would like to see it as close to the original jongbloed hood as possible.....the reason I like it is because it resembles a stock hood with a raised center section.I would have to see the modified hood before i could say wether or not I would buy it....also 3" seems like it may be alittle too tall for my taste....but thats just my .02.......after its made who knows i may like it...

3 inch would be perfect. The 2 1/4 is too small, and the 4 3/4 is too big. I would also like it without the louvers, and i would like it to hang over like Blue502's.

Guys, I don't think he is "stealing" my hood concept, I posted that pic above for their reference when he asked how much overhang in a prior post. I would like that much overhang, but will take whatever is made. I am planning on buying one of these hoods this coming summer. As to the power blisters, that isn't really copying since they aren't louvers . Whether GT decides to build in the power blisters into one version, or builds it with the insert to accept factory louvers/blisters, who cares? This hood won't be a copy of mine. It may not turn out to be an exact copy of Andy's. But Andy was unselfish enough to offer up his hood for copying, for every thirdgen enthusist out there, and I'm not going to complain if some elements of my hood are used. Variaty is the spice of life. More power to all of us in the end if there are multiple versions.

Just for the record, I basically want a plain hood too. I certainly am not personally interested in power blisters, but a lot of guys would probably like them and buy one.

Here is a picture from my drivers seat showing how my hood looks from inside. You actually sit higher in the seat, but this gives an idea:

And this image shows how the hood overhangs the windshield. It clears the wipers with lots of room left over, and the way our hoods are hinged, when you open it up the cowl actually moves away from the windshield, not towards it.

OK so far the 3 inch hight in the rear seems ok The overhang will be somewhat like blue502s hood. The design is going to be like andys rs I will offer a set of blisters to fit this hood as a add on so you can get it with or without the blisters. I will try to get some pics of the progress this weekend.

Ditto. It's kind of a modern version of the cowl induction hood. Will their be enough material to sand down that center ridge?

hey I can make it without the center line. This would make me happy! It will be a pain in the a$$ to get that streight but either way will work. There should be enough glass there to grind it off. What we can do is make it with the line and if you want to grind it off just let us know when you order and we will run some extra glass there.

I say make it the way you suggested, with the crease and extra fiberglass to grind off if wanted.

What about with an inverted crease? Sort of like the C4 vettes have in the center of the hood?

Personally, I'd like to see it kept the same as the original on Andy's car. Best bet would be to get a hold of him and see if he'd be willing to work something out to better aid you in building the hood, but that's just me. I don't know how close you could come to his with a series of pics and some general measurements but at least you'd have a reference point. Though the add on Hood Blisters are a good idea for those that like such things, take care now.
