1. Convertibles category
2. Videos category
We've never done a video COTM before. I mean.... why not, right?

Well....I was never into the Hasselhoff Hustle, but have we ever done a KITT COTM?
I bet there's videos, LOL!
I can appreciate good workmanship even if it's not my thing. Would generate some site traffic if publicized in advance.

I want to see a Daily Driver theme. Let's bring out the cars that run and look good, but are daily drivers! Daily driven at least 2-3 times a week and it shows. I think that would be a really cool theme actually. No perfect paint, no perfect interior, but overall presentable. A car you could say, yea, I'd drive that every day and not worry about the rain or a door ding / shopping cart here or there.

I like looking at creampuff pristine examples as much as the next guy, but everyday cars that probably reflect a higher percentage of the thirdgen community would be nice to see.

Re: Input wanted for August COTM theme
I hear ya about the daily drivers. Cool isn't exclusive to just beautiful cars. But I can tell you that anybody that coordinates COTM will be handed one simple rule to follow: Make sure we have high quality cars. We do have lots of freedom inside that domain though.
I might as well let the cat out of the bag. There won't be a Car of The Year this year. I want to do something non-traditional for average Joe. Something I call the "13th month". Probably won't get a spot on the front page of the website like a regular COTM but who cares, I think people will have fun.

Re: Input wanted for August COTM theme
Alright, I might as well let more cats out of the bag..... LOL! I had 3 ideas for the "13th month"
1. Joe Dirt. Pretty straight forward, not much to explain. Probably have to come up with another name.
2. Project cars. Sounded good to me at first and then I realized it has a problem at it's core: Anybody can say anything and who's to say different? I think I'd rather see drivers that are what they are and easy to represent.
3. Tag team. Kind of like COTY with past 12 months of winners, but those winners have to go find somebody to partner with that's never won. Voting is on the pairs, not individuals.
You guys might be scared if you saw the whole list of ideas I have.
