Best car covers 2021?

My father has just had his 69 Camaro painted, and his birthday is coming up.

I want to get him a really good car cover under $400 to protect it outside when he keeps it out in the driveway.

I've been looking all over and I can't seem to find one that looks reliable!

The main thing is waterproofing, and I see a lot of complaints about various top name covers saying they aren't really waterproof at all!

I think for under $400 a nice car cover should be doable.

I've see other threads here in regards to this, but I am asking in case anything new has been released in the last few years.

I'm looking for personal experience with the covers if possible!

I plan on having my 88 Camaro painted this fall, and would like to get a nice cover then for myself if this one works out!

Looking forward to the replies!

Thanks!

I don't think that I am much help here but I can try and give some advice. If it is parked outside it will get dirty regardless due to condensation and moisture inside the cover. Something to watch out for is not to get one that is too heavy. Almost every car cover will let in water and dampen up the cover, the problem s that it will trap in moisture and create rust if water stays in a rough spot. For instance, my dad has a 79 camaro and used a thick *** cover for about 6 years straight and now has surface rust around the quarter panel at the back window. I own a 92 and i have the same cheap cover right now that you might want to avoid. If you can manage to clean the car you should be fine with any cover but personally for now I have this cover:
Amazon Amazon
That is long enough for a 79 and a 92 so there should be no problem fitting either car. I wouldn't use that for too long but that keeps them remotely dry and stops things from hitting the paint. They aren't the greatest but if you need something fast and want to keep the paint in good health you could try those. If your budget is $400 you could definitely buy good quality covers (better than what i have at least)

Nothing is going to be waterproof, but water "resistant". It will stay dry underneath after a light rain but will eventually start leaking through if it keeps up. A cover must be allowed to breathe or it will trap moisture underneath and cause all kinds of problems.

Good points about letting cover breath. Something you normally don't think about. After poking around online for recommendations, I bough an indoor only car cover from below place for $140. I have had for few weeks and impressed by quality. Very soft material and fits car perfect, not baggy. They have several outdoor covers. Might be worth checking out and their reviews.
