Are those of you doing photoshop alterations using any of the books that are out there to help you use all the tools and features or are you just sitting down in front of computer playing with it? If you use books which ones?

The Classroom in a Book series is very helpful, but they are quite expensive. I used those when I upgraded from 3.0 to 5.0. I have also found a lot of good tutorials, tips and tricks, and other stuff on the web.

Try saving that pic to you hard drive and when you are posting a reply click the browse button and load the pic from this site. You dont need webshots anymore.
IF you want a cheap book on photoshop go to 75% off books. They sell $50.00 books for $5.00. Thats where I got my HTML and TCP\IP book at. Soon I'll get the MCSE books when my classes start but go there.
You know when you in photoshop if you need some help hit F-1 or just go to help at the top of the screen. There is some good stuff in there. You probably dont want to spend so much money on a book for a program that is easier to use then you think
