This car is my first standard, and I never want an automatic again!
Then again, I never again want to have a car that's not a convertible either.
I love my 3rd gen, can you tell?

I drove my '86 around for 3 years, then got the manual TA. NEVER going back Even my dad's '99 TA kicks ***, but its auto, I still don't have as much fun in that as drivin' my car. BTW there's a T56 for the '89 comin'

ive never owned an auto, never will..i think they are sooo boring driving them, waiting for them to shift pisses me off!! id rather know that i can shift at 1000rpms or 6500rpms...i like having that decision..

I enjoy driving standards most of the time infact both my truck and trans am are standard. They are a ton of fun to drive but if I were to build a car for strip use only it'd be an auto with full manual shift also I know I don't shift as fast as an auto but I do like to be able to shift when i want. All in all anyone who hasn't drove a standard needs to so they can see how much funn they are.

I've got a big auto don't have to worry about replacing warn clutches and don't have to worry about breaking stuff. Next car might be a manual though, sort of miss bangnig through the gears.

I have had both a manual and automatic car. I love driving the stick shift but where I am with a lot of traffic I am relieved I have an auto. Traffic+manual= sucks a**. Still I miss banging through the gears. I just plan to build my auto into a manual shift auto that way I don't have to worry about a sore clutch leg

I own an '84 H.O. Z28 with a 700R auto and like the firm shifts I get out of this tranny. I do though plan to own a TPI 305 5spd car someday. Then I'll have the best of both worlds!

I think just the opposite of many here; I started out with a 5spd T5, and now I have an Automatic, now I can never see going back to a manual car....and that works out great because I plan to do the 3.8L TTA/GN Turbo Buick V6 swap...

STANDARD.......I am one with the car, we are a well oiled machine....hehehe. Auto is ok for those traffic days but i like my 5 speed! Sure i have to get into the trans soon and rebuild it but it'll be worth it in the long run. Makes me feel like a race car driver, and i don't even need a honda to feel that way!hahahaha

I had a 5 speed, but I want a 6 speed but I will have to settle for an automatic for a little while and save for the 6 speed.

Personally, I hate polls on a tech board, and since there is no technical merrit to this topic...
