Will a newer style GTA wing fit on my 83 Trans Am?

I was looking for a GTA wing for my 83 Trans Am. I found someone selling one for a decent price and I was wondering if I could just bolt it on, or if it would fit decently? I don't care if it's a little off or whatever. Are the newer GTA hatches different from the older Trans Am hatches?????? Please let me know if you can. Thanks!

Steve

There is only one way that it will fit properly. You will need the ENTIRE hatch off the newer trans am or GTA. There are little clips in the edge of the windows, they are used to support the flared lip of the spoiler, without them they would not mount, and would warp almost instantly.

If the GTA is a 91-92 then the wing can be bolted up to your hatch without any problems, just have to drill 4 holes I believe.
I did it 2 years ago on my 86 that had a standard hatch on it and I don't remember if I was able to use any of the holes from the stock pedestal spoiler that I initially had.
Looks really good on the car too.

The 85-90 T/A / Formula / GTA wing and the 91-92 Aero wing are difficult to attach to standard hatch... (UNLESS you buy one from GTAuto Acc...)

To do the 85-90 STOCK aero Spoiler then you basically need the metal strips that go around the hatch... But those are like $600 new, get the whole darned hatch, it will save you some work... There are 2 Holes in the hatch, and 3 Clips on each side where they attach, and there is no real good way around it.

The 91-92 spoiler attaches with 4 holes, and 2 clips on each side... You can probably get it to work without the clips, but I would try to get a hatch as well... One of the cars I owned I took the 91-92 spoiler and made little aluminum sheet metal brackets, and used rear view mirror cement to attach them to the glass, painted them black, and it looked great...

The 91-92 Spoiler is very stiff and I didn't need to attach the arms to the glass, I just used the 4 bolt holes on the deck lid.
