i have just recently noticed a drip from (i think) my drivers side t top in the rain. the screen seals ok, it seems to be finding its way onto the headliner just above the sun visor, and soaking through (it drips from the screw that holds the visor on. (i presume, the lowest point)

there is a tiny gap between the t top seal and the screen surround just by the edge where it meets the door. is this where it could be coming from?

It only leaks while the car is standing still, if you drive, it stops leaking.....

Hey Phil. I had the same problem. Exactly. I didn't see what you're driving so I can't be sure. I drive a 92 TA. My solution was this: remove the visors, headliner, A-pillar covers etc... Like you're gonna change your weather striping and do a thorough rust/leak check. When you get down below the striping you'll probably find a bunch of rust. I did. Either sand/clean it off, or hit it with some rust killer. Then(after the rust killer dries)put the hardware back on the top. Slide your T's on and look for any gaps. They will probably be around the front and rear of the center strip(the metal piece that your T's seat under.) But also check the perimiter of the tops where they meet the metal. There is often a gap or three to be found here. When you have located all of the poteitial culprits, remove the upper hardware(the left and right plates and center strip on the roof) and get some silicone sealant and slather the hell out of it. Use as much as possible without sacrificing either the aesthetic or functionality of your rig. Use your finger to bevel the silicone in at about a 45 degree angle(helps the T's to seat better too). While you're at it, you will want to inspect your weather striping. If it's hosed, now is a good time to change it. Let everything dry thoroughlly, reassemble and drive. I hit my T's afterward with a high pressure sprayer from all angles and didn't get a drop inside. Best of luck.

My leak was coming (as i suspected) from the joint where the seal meets the windscreen surround. i peeled the seal back a little, and sealed it against the surround with black silicone, then (after carefull masking) sealed between the surround and the seal itself.

Using black silicone, the job is invisible, and there are no more leaks.
