well my 'maro sat out all winter with no car cover because my parents had gotten me a tarp instead of a car cover and by the time i had money for a car cover, it had already snowed. well i went out to take out the battery, but the door was iced shut. so i yanked on the bastard, not realizing i would damage something. now it's spring and guess what? i can't open my driver's side door. any suggestions on how to fix it. and my hood won't open.

Don't think I can help you on the door. But the hood I might be able to. Have someone pull the hood release, then while there holding it in the releasing position...hit the hood real hard right above where the latch is. Some times it helps to sort of bounce your weight off of it. If you do get it open, put some wd40 on the cable and linkage in there then pull the release from inside the car a few times to free things up.

Most likely you broke your door handle rod inside of the door, or bent it and it poped out of its holder. One way or another you'll have to take off your door panel to fix the problem. You can open the door from the inside right? As for the hood I wouldnt pound on it just push down ontop of the latch area and the hood should pop up to the latch release postition. I have that proplem on my car alot.

if you cant get in either door, try the hatch, and open from inside if you can.

I don't know if it's the same on Camaros as it is on Birds, but, if you crawl a little under the front, you can reach up and unlatch the hood.. I found this out back when I was looking for a car... this way I could look at the motor without the keys. Since, I have decided to make a cover... don't want people opening my hood when I'm not around.

Anyway, like they said, just lube the hood latch.. I used transmission oil.. I think that is not supposed to attract dirt as much... I'm not sure. I used to have to pull the hood realease, push the handle back in, then walk to the hood and give it a tap... nothing that would bend any metal, but enough to shock it to break loose. I'd suggest opening from the bottom because then you can manipulate the latch any way you need to until it opens.

i can get in the passenger door and open the driver's door from inside. so i know the handle from the outside had something break or come loose. i've never taken the door panel apart before, any suggestions? i'm going out in a few hours to try it, i just don't want to break anything else as it seems like that's how my spring is going with my car.
