interested??? part 2:
a few months ago i posted about making a 4th gen style ttop holder that will accomodate a sub near the back seat....well im done want to know what you think. if enoug people like it, ill make some plans for it. the ttops fit in 2 slots and then i take my old leather ttop case, fold it in quarters and use that as a buffer between them and the rear of the car. ive had no problems with them rattling around doing this, i was going to make a strap system, but the old holder is a good enough pad that i dont need to any more.

I'm no physics major, but those "slots" that hold the tops in place don't seem very tall, isn't that going to put undue stress on the glass in the center when you stop or take off? Eventually those baby's might just crack through the center won't they?

the slots on mine have to be short, otherwise, the ttops are at such an angle that the hatch wont close. as long as something like the old ttop bag is used as a pad, they should be ok. there is no noise while im driving, so there shouldnt be any stress n the tops.
heres an old pic of em in the slots

Is there some reason you put the tops in with the glass down? I always put mine in the back well with the glass bits up (a towl in between the tops so they don't rub) and the frame on the bottom cause i figured it would be safer for the tops. Am i wrong or does it matter. Nice bit of hard ware though and it is a shame gm never thought of that.

that is a good idea, i just lay mine that way i dunno why, it does leave some room for stuff on the floor.
