Anyone Have Pictures Of LAte Model 4th gen Tan Seats in Beechwood Third gen??

Hey Guys, wondering if anyone has any pictures of later model tan/beige 4th gen. seats in their car that has Beechwood color interior. I wonder how it looks. I want to purchase 2002 tan Trans Am seats for my 1989 GTA, but the colors are different, and I was wondering how it looks.
Thanks!
Mike

The earlier seats would match better (93-99 I think). Those are tan, the newer one's were 'neutral'

Hey Kevin, thanks for the reply. I know the older ones will match better, but I wanted to see how the "neutral" color looked together with the Beechwood. The problem with the older ones, is getting ones in mint condition. And if I have to recover seats, I might as well recover my originals. But to recover the right way with leather is more $$ than buying mint late model Leather ones. I have the option for a set of mint Neutral ones. So I was wondering if someone in here has this color combo, and could post a pic. Thanks again man.

Its VERY close

No one thats ridden in the car has noticed any difference in the colors. Only thing Ive seen is the seatbelt female ends are darker than the seats, the seatbelts are very close aswell as the plastic trim. Pics look very different cuz of the sheen on the leather

the easiest way to get around that is to put new door panels but do a 2 tone, one darker than your seats and one lighter than your seats. That way it looks like it was planned. and maybe have your e-brake wrapped in leather to match your seats

Hey Pocket, that looks great! Thats what I wanted to see. That is the exact color of the seats I am going to get. Thanks for the pic. As far as the door panels go, mine actually are like a two-tone. There is cloth on them as well as vinyl. The cloth is lighter than the vinyl. And my carpets are a little lighter beige. So I think it will look good. Maybe I can re-do the speaker covers, visors, and headliner a little lighter, and it will blend pretty good. Hey Pocket how well did your original seat wiring work with the new seat wiring? Thanks!
Later!

Next point... make double sure whoever you buy the seats from sends the wiring harness that connects them. Youll have a hard time finding one otherwise

Mine didnt so I swapped in the manual 6way rack from my old seats till I can get the harness/lumbar tubes

Ive got more pics if you wanna see em. My seatbelt loops dont match but noone notices that either

Hey Pocket, yeah man show me some more pics. I think your interior looks great. I just bought the seats, and they are coming with the harness. Hopefully the harness will connect right up with my old harness. They are missing the seat belt holders, so I will have to go to the boneyard and get them.

Hey Pocket, the seats I am getting do not have the seatbelt holders (the piece that attaches to the headrest). So I went to the bone yard today, and picked some up off a 99 firebird. I couldn't figure out how the hell to get the belt out of them, so I cut the seatbelts. The car was trashed anyway. How the hell am I going to get my factory seatbelts through the new holders? My GTA holders have a seperation that you can feed the belt through, but the new ones are one solid loop. And my GTA ones won't work. Did I lose you?
Thanks!

Mike, you are going to have to cut a small slit in the bracket. The most common place I've seen is between the two screw holes. That way both sides of the split are still attached.

Where would i go about getting a set of 4th gen seats in that color? How much would they cost, and how easy is the install?

You see my seats are in MINT condition but to me the seat materials just seem so fragile i dont want to tear them or wear them out. I have some ugly *** seat covers over them now, but i would love to put some 4th gen seats in for a few years, wear them out, and then throw the stock ones back in...

EDIT: Put up a few want ads at camaroz28 and LS1tech and ive already got a few leads. Ill keep you guys updated...Also, what do you guys think is a fair price for 98 SS camaro seats (tan leather) front and rears? Keep in mind they'd have to be shipped too.

Hey Bro, you can probably expect to pay anwhere from $500-700 for a mint set of Neutral leather seats. The Black (Ebony are even a little more usually) I believe the Trans Am seats are a bit higher priced than the Camaros also. But I could be wrong on that. Check your salvage yards, or ebay. But remember, on ebay there is shipping also.

The neutral 4th gen cloth seats are a terrible match for the beechwood interior. I bought a set for the GTA, but the color was so bad I resold them.

Unfortunately, they're a poor match for the gray interiors too, so it took me forever to sell them.

Here's a pic to illustrate. The neutral seat is on the right, and there's a beechwood and a gray interior panel for comparison.

Jim that neutral cloth seat looks real close to the med doeskin interior/cloth seat in my '83.I have mismatched seats - driver's side is a light blue separate headrest model ,maybe '86-'87 from the look of the material pattern and the passenger seat is the original high back custom cloth.I'm debating what to do about the seats, well down the road. You've given me another idea since finding anything for the '83 med doeskin interior is tough.I guess a lot of the KITT conversions account for a lot of the pieces. What year(s) should I keep in mind in looking for this color/style seat?

Neutral was only on 2000-2002 cars.

Alrite guys i have two deals in the works: Either a full set (front and rear) of Tan cloth seats out of 1993 Camaro with 20,000 miles for $125

or these awesome leather seats out of a 94 TA. I am still negioating the price but there is a small tear in the driver seat and i am wondering how much that would cost to have fixed (as it could only get worse). Pic enclosed.

I agree that TA seats and leather definately look better...but i mean the deal on the camaro seats is insane. What do you guys think???

I personally like the Trans Am style a little better. I think they look a little more classy, and they do offer better support (lumbar, lower back adjustments). I also like the leather better than the cloth. If you take care of the leather (clean & condition it), it will last a long time an look great. I have an 2001 Caddy Seville with neutral leather seats, and I clean and condition them once every month. And they still look like brand new. As far as the repair goes, I would say anywhere from $60-$180 to repair those two tears (lower and side bolster). When I first got my GTA, my driver seat bolster was torn in the notorious bolster wear spot, like yours, but worse than yours. I took it to the best guy(excellent reputation) around and he replaced the complete piece with perfect match Beechwood leather. He did a great job. It cost me $150. I know that may sound expensive, but I know the guys quality work, and I am a neurotic picky SOB I do not mind spending a little more cash for a top notch job. But you can get it done cheaper I am sure. I was thinking about redoing my front seats (since my rears and the rest of my interior are perfect, but this interior guy quoted me about $1000 for just the two fronts redone. I know they would look like factory, but hell no on $1000! Or there is always the option to by real good seat covers (I forgot the name of the company) they make excellent covers, but they are like $1700 if I am not mistaking. And then you need to get them installed. I would hate to spend that dough and try and install them myself and mess them up. So getting an excellent used late model set of seats is the way to go. It is a lot cheaper, and even if they need a small repair, I think it is worth it. Especially if the seats were taken care of good by the previous owner. I think if you spend a little more for the Pontiac leather seats, you will be happier. The ones you have pictured look nice man. Just my opinion.
