HOW DO I FIX THIS?

alright so i've been told i can fix these fairly large cracks with bondo. the question is... will that actually work and if it will do i have to take all the paint off or can i just smooth it off and paint over it and make it a quick 20 mins job? got pictures of it don't worry.

the pictures are on the second page.

there, looks like a bad bondo job. the best fix would be to replace that portion of the qtr panel

i'm pretty sure that's not bondo... the swirl effect around it was me trying to get the dirt off. to me it kinda looks like the owner might have used a reproduction part or soemthing and its just somehow managed to split.

that's either body filler or the paint has shrunk (if that's a word)....

yep thats a paint issue, not a repo part or anything like that, take a d/a and sand it all down and see whats under it, but be prepared to repaint as well, that looks like single stage paint which does tend to crack. its an fairly easy fix with the right equipment. if thats the only bad spot on the car take it in to a body shop for a quick fix shouldnt be more than a few hundered to redo that section and blend.

oh and your main question... do not p;ut bondy over that the crak will come right back, sand away.... see what is under it, i wold guess bad bondy or just bad paint prep. sould also be 1k filler under 2 k paint filler without hardener will done some funky things under 2k paint( base clear)
