It finally happened.... :(

After 4 years of driving without any sort of fender bender..... i lost control of my car about a week ago and plowed a fire hydrant......

Smashed up the front bumper cover, broke the hi beam lens ( still works tho ), moved in the radiator support, bent the from subframe, tie rod bent, Dented the floor pan moving the pass seat and the center console, ripped a hole in the floor..... blew out two tires and ripped off my exhaust.

after all that i swapped on two spare wheels, zip tied the radiator back, and drove home.

third pic down shows the hole in the floor... kinda bad angle... but its dented up alot

Saigon-bob, that maroon car you got, does it have a good driver fender? How about the hood, is that in good shape and is it an IROC hood? I live in Kissimmee too and need some parts if you are selling them. Please let me know.

Is that the fuel line ziptied to the upper radiator hose and laying on top of the radiator? By any chance did your wreck have anything to do with the car vapor-locking?

Yea I work next to a tire shop so they gave me 3 Goodyear RS-A tires for free, used but with tons of tread.

um nope the tires were'nt bald untill i drove to my friends house on flats.

How did it happen, well this is going to sound really stupid but it was a case of rear end swings out one way ( nothing i can't deal with ) and then the car caught traction outta no where and swung around the otherway ( normally wouldn't have been bad save the fact of close proximity to the corner ). The car hopped a curb, went thru a sign, then up over the fire hydrant. I literally hit it and the car hopped over it and onto it. It was laying on the sidewalk lol.

Also yes i realize that it a really bad spot for the fuel line but not a sign of vapor lock yet. It was done like that as an emergency measure when i converted from TBI to Carb, my vats module was taking a **** on me and left me stranded too many times so i decided no more computer.

Car looks relatively dry...

Did the fire hydrant break and spray water?

You could have just over ridden the VATS system. Either wire past it, or hardwire the proper resistance into the wire...either way, sorry to hear about that. hope everything works out here.

The fire hydrant broke and was like 2 ft away from its original spot on the floor but no water.....

and the VATS had previously been by-passed so i had no other choice other than to replace or cut out.
