91" head light gears work in 87" motor?

hey guys I have an 87' Firebird and I got the gears from a 91' from the junk yard I was just wondering if the gears were interchangable (they did look like different motors). Thanks for reading.

Re: 91" head light gears work in 87" motor?

Yes. However, I can tell you that 99.9% of the time the gear isn't bad. It is what is (or in your case WAS) inside the triangular-shaped cavity or the gear that is bad. There were 3 small cylindrical-shaped hard gel inserts or bushings in that cavity. If you find a spoonfull of off-white colored chunks, that is what remains of your bushings. I sell two kits TDS 207280 & TDS 209280 to repair these 1987-92 Firebird headlight actuators. Download my instructions for the 209280 kit and you'll understand what I'm referring to. The instructions are in the lower left-hand corner of my site.

The instructions for most items I sell are on the lower left corner at the bottom under "Documentation". Here's a link to it in case you're still having trouble finding it:

Re: 91" head light gears work in 87" motor?

I got all that stuff from the other motor I guess that I'll be alright It looks like those bushings are designed to fail before the gears do. if all else fails I guess I'll be purchasing a kit thank you for your time and energy.
