Have any of you covered all the plastic trim in the hatch area, sail panels, console etc with fabric?

I'm thinking of doing it but I want to find out any problems or ideas that you found or saw and how it was done.

I don't think it would be a problem, just put the carpet in the stock locations and it'll look great. I'd use a contact cement or similar to bond the two together.

A friend of mine did it to his, he didn't have any problems, just used a hot glue gun and stuck the carpet right on the plastic. It doesn't look as good as you would think it would though, thats my opinion atleast.

I think it would look better if you used Tweed.Just get some thin cardboard(1 ply) cut it to fit the plastic pieces and wrap it with tweed,then glue it to the plastic panels.

Hey Kermit...

I was planning on using grey tweed to match the seats and carpet. Why would you use the cardboard and then glue it to the plastic?. Would it not be easier to use a spray adhesive and then apply the tweed directly?

prolly be easier to remove the cardboard when/if it needs redone.

if you apply tweed directly you'll have the edges show, you want to wrap the tweed around something so the frayed edges aren't visible then glue that to the plastics
