How do I go about fixxing a saggy headliner?? - Third Generation F-Body Message Boards

I know you can buy the 3M stuff but do you just use the same material that is on the board or do you have to replace it also. The piece I have is in great shape so is the board but I just need to know how to go about fixxing it myself.

If the headliner is sagging, odds are that the material has seperated from the foam that is attached to the back of it. If your board is in good shape, then you can just replace the material. About $10/yard from JoAnne Fabrics or the like. 3M Super 77 or 90 works fine to reapply.

Do you make sure that all the foam is off the board before replacing it or is there any prep that is needed before applying?

Yeah, after you remove the material, take a bristle scrub brush and clean off all of the old foam. Once that is done, spray both the board and the back of the new material with the spray adheasive. Let it sit until both sides tack up and apply the new material starting from the center and working your way out.

I have a local joann fabrics around here do you asj for headliner material and how much will I need?

I bought 2 yards so I would have plenty extra. Wanted enough to cover the T-Top inserts as well. 1.5yards is probably enough to cover fine, but I would buy 2 just in case.
