77 camaro

My friend was looking at a 77 z28 camaro that was fully restored and barely had any miles on the new engine. The guy is asking 7500. Is that too high or is it a good price. And how could we get the price down?

lol. im sorry but those were the ugliest camaros ever. why would you think of buying one. around here, there was a nice one with a sb400 and a th400 and posi for 1000. they arent worth 7500, you could get a 1st gen for that if you wanted one. at least get a 70 or 71 if you are a 2nd gen fan.

Thats a bit too much money. My first car was a 78 camaro. I wish I still had it.

i dont konw if i should just smile in disgust and not say anything, or go off on your close-minded point of view. you said.."those are the ugliest camaros ever, why would you ever think about buying one" .. the NEXT thing you said was "around here, there was a nice one..." i dont think i have to explain. AND, you go and say "oh get a 70 or 71 if you are a 2nd gen fan". ( i have an eat-**** and die grin on my face) you do know that from 70-73 the body style was the same, no? then in 74, safety rules called for bumpers to be manditory, hence the disappearance of the split bumper style. YES, in the market they are worth 7500, restored. to unknown, no they arent. my 74 is selling for 5500, and it is not restored, its just another pony car thats been fairly well taken care of. dont buy a restored, aka original one expecting it too be fast; 70's small blocks were the epitome of slowness. get one you like to drive, and YOU like the looks of, then it will be worth every penny.

That don't sound like a terrible price. My son has a modified 81 that he is selling for around $8000. I personally like the second generation camaros and have seen original/restored second gens going for anywhere from $7000 to $10000.

NO SUCH THING AS A "UGLY" CAMARO. THEY ALL LOOK BETTER THEN THE MUSTANGS. IF YOU LIKE IT BUY IT. YOU HAVE TO DRIVE IT NOT US.

I am far from a fan of the second gens, to me they are ugly too, but I still have respect for them, becasue they made great motors for them in the early 70s and alot of thier styling helped start the styling of the third gen. there too high of the ground for me, just like third gens without ground effects just dont look right to me, but i have respect for it, its just not me, but if its you i say get it, and the most important thing is if its worth spending the money to you

"MAC" SEEMS LIKE YOU ARE IN THE AREA. DO YOU EVER MAKE IT TO BLUE TOP IN HIGHLAND? YOU CAN FIND US ON THE NO.INDIANA/CHGO. SUBS BOARD. WHAT KIND OF CAR DO YOU HAVE?

I HAVE ONE OF THOSE THIRDGENS WITHOUT THE GROUND EFFECT, JUST TO BE DIFFERENT. SEEMS LIKE EVRYONE HAS THE EFFECTS SO I DON'T. NOW MY NEW '91 RS HAS THEM AND THEY LOOK BAD A&$ BUT THE EARLY 3RD GENS DON'T LOOK SO GOOD.
EVERYTHING IS PERSONAL PREFERENCE. THAT IS THE BEAUTY OF THE CAMARO. YOU CAN HAVE IT YOUR WAY!

Yeah your right the older third gens dont look right with the ground effects its been done and it just dont look right, I think its cause the rest of the body wastn matched for the ground effects. I live close to you, but not too close I live in the joliet area.

Just for the record - I happend to like my 2nd gen.
It was this '75 that I restored from a rust pile. May not be the prettiest of all the models - but it was a fun, and I learned a LOT from the restoration.
