Non power to power antenna
Is it easy to change my stock non power antenna to power? Even if it’s an aftermarket piece. Just not a fan of the look of it in general and it makes storing the car a tad more difficult. I cant just throw a cover on and off real quick because you have to deal with feeding the mast through a make shift hole.
Any brand recommendations if this is a fairly standard thing?

Re: Non power to power antenna
I just spin the antenna masts off when the cover goes on, spin it back on finger snug when the cover comes off. Easy.
The power antenna wiring is behind the dash, usually wrapped in foam rubber. You'd need the relay and the antenna. Plug from antenna and plug from the car plug into the relay, then the antenna cable plugs in as normal. But really, it's just one more item to maintain and potentially fail.

Cool. Thanks guys. I’ll take a look at that antenna post and spinning it on/off tomorrow. Atleast it sounds fairly straight forward if I do decide to swap it out.

think GenDisorder mentions one here. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/elec...na-wiring.html
He may have a real one for you?

Also mentioned a few other places, in Audio forum I think. One thing you might consider is the hole that the wiring goes thru. Not sure if your car would be plugged or if you need to drill one.
