The Power antenna fixer / Pop up headlights too
Located this guy thru another member here - @DynoDave43 when searching experiences on power antenna repair. He is in my neck of the woods, so I emailed him and got a response with-in a day. Went out to meet him, nice guy, knows what he is doing with these. He showed me around his place and all what he does to fix these antenna's. Also showed me some Chinese knock-offs that people had sent him unknowning they had chinese knock-offs. You can tell by the tabs, they are weak. There are other clues. He disassembled mine, Johnny on the spot in 5 minutes or less. It became apparent he had fixed many of these. Also had built a jig to straighten the antenna mast, as a lot of them are not straight. He welds a plastic coated steel cable in place, replaces a few internals, lubes it up, and replaces some ball bearings with some he has pre-treated and ready to go then puts back together with stainless steel hardware. Job well done! His service give you some extra's you might not do, and are definitely worth the upcharge if you're not on a tight budget. Fast turn-around too. He worked in manufacturing for many years before retiring, and is President/Technical Advisor of the Buick Reatta club.
He also fixes our pop-up headlights. He showed me his bag of little white ***** that go in the motors. Thousands! Pretty certain he would do a great job on that repair as well.

25 years ago, when I parked the car, the antenna was working. When I got it out of storage, didn't work. Can't tell you how many times put it up and down the day I got it installed. Another small thrill in life! (ignore that first attempt at going up - I didn't push power button in all the way, not a bad response time!)

Mine was $65 including return shipping IIRC, but that was some years ago. Mine is still working fine also.

I had to replace my original back in 1992 I believe. That one is still in my car and works fine.
