Front brakes blocked in my Firebird V6

Hello,

On my V6 Firebird from 1991, my front right brake is blocked, its always braking the wheel .

Last night, this was my front right brake:

I dismount the wheel, and take a look to the brake, and I can't move the disk because the caliper with the brake pad its making force to the disk and braking it.

What I can do?.

Thanks and excuse my bad english

Re: Front brakes blocked in my Firebird V6

it is possible that the caliper is seized but, I would suggest replacing the rubber brake line as they have a tendency to collapse. You could use a stock type replacement or a stainless steel braided type. I would also replace the rotor and bearings if it got as hot as the pic you showed. hope this helps

That picture looks like it was taken while the rotor was turning. How did you take it?

thats not really his rotor. Notice the PORSCHE label on the caliper???? but back to topic, sounds like the caliper is seized and needs replacing.

I would replace the rotors and pads also. They are all shot..If it got that hot than the rotors are warped and the pads are glazed bad. They are not meant to get that hot.
