What rear brakes best match CTSv Brembos?
Looking to do the 14" front Brembos and need to find something to match in the rear. I haven't seen a rear Brembo option that I feel would effectively work due to pad knock and needing to run specialized parts. I want something that is effective but also something that I can find replacement parts for easily. I would like to start tracking the car as soon as the rumored road course is finished here. Wheels won't be an issue for clearance but do not want something huge in the rear. Just a nice balanced rear setup with parking brake.
I have considered just doing LS1 rears but had seen a thread where someone used the front rotors and calipers from a C5 but can no longer find the thread online. Not sure how that ever turned out. Any suggestions?

Pretty much anything will work well in the rear. I would go for the later PBR or LS1 setup. Both are proven and will work fine.

By later PBR style you mean the LT1 rears? If that's the case, I already have parts for that so I think I will go with that setup. Saves me lots of money!

To my understanding.....The LT1s had the same PBR calipers as the 89-92 3rd gens. If so.....They wouldn't be a upgrade. Would be just the same as what you have now.

You are correct they are the same caliper but the LT1 rotors are larger in diameter so that's where the upgrade comes in.

I meant the third gen PBR's. You mentioned you didn't want something huge in the rear, that why I suggested them. I believe there are several places that use those calipers on a 13" rotor.

I am really the most concerned with finding something that balances with the front Brembos the best. Balance, price and parts availability are my biggest concerns with the upgrades. I know I don't need another 14" 4 pot setup on the rear because the balance will be thrown off but don't know what other options would fit my needs the best..

Ya I don't plan on throwing anything away yet. Just need to see what's the best path to take. I'm starting to see maybe the LT1 setup is the best in my case though. Plus I already have Brembo rotors and EBC greenstuff pads for that setup. Just need the adapter brackets and new calipers to replace my old nasty ones.

Aren't the rear LT1 f-body rotors almost the axact same diameter as the 89-92 J65/1LE rotors?
