Cold Car, Brakes Suck

87 Camaro 2.8L V6 Front Disc, Rear Drum.

New calipers, new pads, rotors, new booster check valve and nicely bled brake system.

When the car is cold, if I try to stop the pedal will go as far as my foot will let it (it will go about half travel and it is a hard pedal) and the rotors will continue to go forward. I can hear my pads hitting it but just not stopping it.

What can cause brakes to suck when the car is cold?

Re: Cold Car, Brakes Suck

i would guess either your actual brake booster is having issues, or the master cylinder is bad. Was it doing it BEFORE you did all the brake work? And are you saying once it warms up it works fine? How cold is cold? ANY outside temperature? Or just, say, when its below freezing outside?

Re: Cold Car, Brakes Suck

Could any of the parts been installed incorrectly? Did it do anything like this before the new parts installation? Why a new check valve? do the brakes work normally after the car warms up or does the outside temp need to warm up? I think we need some more information. Thanks
