pbr or iron rear disc conversion?
I have a drum brake rear on my 91 Z. I just picked up a 9 bolt 3.27 disc brake rear (p/n 10054239 according to the tag).
I have a few questions:
I keep reading about this rear with the iron calipers or the "PBR" calipers. -Which is better and why?
-It seems that the PBR is better; if that is the case, is this rear worth messing with? Is there enough difference in my drum rear and this one to go through the hassle of rebuilding and installing it or should I find a PBR rear (or do something else?)
*I am looking to improve the exiting brakes for street driving and occasional track and autocross--want to keep stock wheels* I will need to do a front brake upgrade as well; although I have not decided on what upgrade yet*

Delco moraine are marginally better than drums and require retrofitting with the recall kit. PBR's are better, primarily due to the larger rotor.

I'd advise changing the combination valve as well for best brake performance.

Re: pbr or iron rear disc conversion?
I did the whole 9 bolt rebuild and swap to PBR brakes exercise. I picked up most of the parts cheap when I saw them and did all the work myself (after a lot of reading). The improvement from open diff drum to LSD disk was well worth the effort. Interesting learning to do it too.
