LS1 to even Bigger Brakes

I currently have the "LS1" brake system, but I am looking into upgrading the front brakes even more, to 13" rotors and 4 piston calipers. Is this as simple as just buying a 13" rotor and 4 piston caliper? Do I need a different bracket and/or modified spindle?

Depends a lot of what you use. You will need a braxket for sure but should be able to use the same hub unless the new rotor changes the offset a lot and you need the 1le spec rotors to make up for it.

Let's say I wanted to upgrade to this kit: http://flynbye.com/catalog/i70.html

All I would need is bracket, rotors, calipers and pads right? I have the hub that came with Ed's kit when I purchased it back in 2009..

If you already have the hub and modified spindle, you'll just need new rotors, calipers, and a bracket. Probably new hoses if you're upgrading to brembos.

Re: LS1 to even Bigger Brakes

That's awesome! Should be easy enough then. Thanks guys

BTW, would my front calipers/rotors fit on my rear let's say if I wanted to do a rear LS1 swap? (so that I can just re-use my front calipers and rotors on the rear)

Re: LS1 to even Bigger Brakes

I'm sure Scott at bbu could make a bracket to put the ls1 calipers at the rear if you really wanted. The brackets are pretty cheap, even cheaper if you dont want parking brakes. Are the front ls1's a fixed caliper? If so youll have to weigh the issues of pad knockback with the better braking power. The bracket is the most expensive part about the rear end swap so it might be better to just get more brembos in the back as well since the calipers are so cheap.

Dual pistons in the rear sounds pretty awesome

Re: LS1 to even Bigger Brakes

Dual piston rears? How about 4 piston rears!
