The old baer brakes are 20 some yrs old at this point, time for a upgrade, if we can make it work.
I am surprised you were able to fit the C6 ZO6 caliper under a 17" wheel. I too am running these calipers, and they seem close with my 19's. Is that a smaller rotor?
I bought these for my 70 formula project but had a "what if" moment. Sooo I'm going to play with it a bit.
The caliper is just loosely bolted in place and needs machined to fit flat on the current bracket
rotor is only a 12.8/13" in the picture with a lot of clearance inside the caliper pad area to the top. Right under 3/4 of an inch.
I hope tomake it work with a 14" rotor. May have to machine the 2 caliper bridges down a bit for more clearance.

Those calipers are designed for 14" rotors, and you already have modified spindles and hubs, so all you should need is a set of C5/C6 front conversion brackets from BBU, and C6 Z06 front rotors from wherever. Modifying the calipers with hopes that they're fit 17" wheels will be quite an expensive gamble. And if they don't fit, then you might not want them on your 2ndgen after that.
A couple of members are running C5/C6 Base 12.8" front brakes with C6 Z51 calipers in repro 3rdgen 17" wheels, and they report that the brakes are a very close fit inside the barrel. The C5 front wheel for the 12.8" brakes was also 17".
You did, sort of, ask for opinions lol, so... since you bought them for your 2ndgen, then I'd use them for that, with the CPP C5 hub-style spindles for 2ndgens. C5 and C6 brakes are interchangeable, including C6 Z06 (but not C6 ZR1), so those Z06 calipers should bolt directly onto the CPP spindles. Then shop for a different front conversion for your 3rdgen. Some C7 or 6thgen Brembo brakes might fit 17" wheels, but I don't think they're 14". Scott is always available for Q&A.
But if you decide to go C6 Z06 all around, rear rotors are 13.4", and Scott offers the C5/C6 rear conversion components for the 9-bolt.

i used these smaller rotors (c4/c5) just to check rotor offsets for the caliper, plan would be to use a 14".
i spoke w Scott a bit, he kinda said, you're on your own haha
