I'm selling the camaro. just hit 168,000 miles. It's still damaged. I was in an accident in late January and was hit in the left front. pics on cardomain ... http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2117465/1
Vehicle is equipped with power mirrors and windows, A/c (holds pressure but not fully charged- compressor operates/cycles), Borg T5, Open diff w/ 3.23 gears, TBI 305, T-Tops, ... fully equipped RS.
I am not willing to part it out. Only exception is the wheels/tires. If you want it, but for less than I'm asking I'll part with it for less if you bring your own wheels. Make Offer
I'll take $1500 cash, no questions asked. PM on pricing w/o tires. Otherwise, I'm not desperate for the cash so I'll take the best offer I can find.
Vehicle will not include a factory or the currently installed radio assy. Depending on the offer I may choose to include a CD player (not the one currently installed).
While I've owned the vehicle I have replaced the front and rear brakes (~1 month ago), serviced the diff, replaced the rear wheel cylinders and axle seals, replaced the Clutch assy w/ O.E. replacement via NAPA, recharged the K&N filter, last month replaced the spark plug wires, replaced the drive belt after the accident (1/27/07), tires are ~24,000 miles old w/ 7mm tread front and 6mm tread rear (checked 2 weeks ago), flushed the coolant, replaced the spark plugs 6 months ago w/ Autolites, Oil changes EVERY 2800-3100 miles, Always use Lucas Oil stabilizer and 5w-30 w/ NAPA Gold filter (re-badged WIX), replaced the oil press. sending unit last month, trans was serviced with clutch replacement (no signs of internals coming apart - metal, bad smells, etc.), bearings were repacked and sealed in Feb of '06. Any thing else ask.
whats wrong w/ it: left bank head gasket is leaking in the rear - only leaking oil OUT. Valve seals should be replaced - occasional smoke on startup. A/C inop but holds pressure - should be converted to R134a. T-tops leak minimally. Starting to show it's age. May need struts - noisy over bumps. Obviously, the accident damage.
I am in Allen county. My house is within sight of I-75, in the Lima area. I don't remember the exit #. It's the same road for the super Wal-mart and the BP gas station, just west instead of east.
I am very interested in the car was wondering ifu think the car would make it back to sioux city,ia.If so i would fly in to columbus and drive the car home u can call me at 712-490-5080 so we can talk with out trying to answer all the questions little by little. thanks for answering all my questions so for, looking forward to hearing from u.
The Camaro is still for sale. I was under the impression that Jason wanted to buy it, but with the lack of response and showing interest in other vehicles I'm not going to bother holding it for him.
So, anybody else interested? note original post for info. PM or email at d_j_wimbo@yahoo.com for any other available info.
Tried calling u last night 3 times no answer, I am looking at other cars some that are a little closer than 12hrs away, i have a couple i am looking at this weekend then i will let u know what i am going to do.
I'm asking $1500. Currently does not have a cd player in it - switched over to my new(er) vehicle. Update on the mileage. I haven't driven the vehicle since posting it for sale, but it has 168,485 miles. It's been started every couple days and just cleaned.
I'll take $1250 w/o wheels & tires.
Any offer, Send PM or email d_j_wimbo@yahoo.com.
Will drive to desination or meet half way. keep in mind if I meet half way I have to pay my room mate to drive with me there and then drive back in another vehicle. - gas just hit $2.99 here. ... driving to a destination effects pricing.
And YES, it'll make it. the damage is cosmetic. It runs great, drives straight and gets pretty decent fuel mileage for it's age.
hi,
i was wondering how much you would charge to drive it to western md? map quest says its about 375-400 miles, let me know,im very interested, and i have cash in hand, thanks.
phil
hey im in love with this car i have a camaro 1992 Rs with a spare motor with 47000 on the motor its a 3.1 v6 car 25th annversiery it has a black interior would you be willing to trade?? or i could do 1,000 cash + give you your gas money back if you drove it here im really interested in the car
Trade you a 1991 Z28 .040 305 tpi t-top car. 130000 on body 90k on engine. small dent on passengers quarter and on lip of drivers rear wheel well. Leather interior, auto tranny.
Sorry, at this point I don't think I can accept a trade. It's appreciated and I'm decently impressed w/ the offers but I'm either going to sell it and use the $$ for some needed TLC on my new(er) car or keep it and slowly work on it. ... most likely the sell option
I really don't want to lower the price. This weekend I put it on the corner by my house in OH, and I've got at least 3 people interested. ... And they didn't even question the price.
Like I said in the beginning, I'm not desperate to sell it right now. I feel like it's a good deal for what it is.
I don't have a problem driving it somewhere out of state, but figure 23-24mpg in the kmaro getting it there, plus 25+mpg in my A4 getting there and back. ... food might be a good thing to throw in too.
$1500 as is, plus delivery via driving by request, $1250 w/o wheels/tires as is.
I don't remember if I included this in the original description. It is equipped with a Hurst Short shifter. I have replaced the factory mounting bolts for this since the plate on top of the trans is 1/4" thick as opposed to the factory 1/16" and the bolts were too short. they were replaced and installed with "lock-tite". I got bored on a warm spring day and welded up a shorter shift lever with a knob welded on. It's made of .25X1.5" steel with a lathe cut 'knob' welded on. Shifts are greatly improved, the shift lever I made is 6" long as opposed to the Hurst that is 8.75" and easily tripled in weight. Shifts are TIGHT and SHORT. Lever play in gear seems to not exist on first test drive. To me this is probably my favorite aftermarket/home engineered mod I've ever done and am really proud of it. in comparison, I hate driving anything w/o a short throw now. - If you want the actual Hurst shift lever w/ factory knob, you can have it w/ the car, but once you try it, you won't want it.

It's a camaro axle/rear end. I was told, when I purchased it, that the prvious owner had the gears installed. If I read it correctly, it came with 2.73's, similar to my old S10, but I checked the markings when I serviced the diff w/ the axle seals. It's stamped 7.5 - 13:40. I didn't bother counting the teeth to make sure what I was seeing was right. It's a 10-bolt rear end. But like I said, I honestly didn't count to make sure.
