Clean unmolested 1987 Camaro Iroc-Z28 5.0L/T-5 !!!SOLD!!!

Update: SOLD

For Sale: 1987 Camaro Iroc Z-28 5.0/5-speed

For sale is my pride and joy 1987 Chevy Camaro Iroc-Z28. I have owned and taken care of it since the fall of 2006.

Factory 5.0 Tuned Port Injection with a Borg Warner T-5 Speed manual. ~160K on it. Viper red with t-tops. Well maintained and well looked after, never beat on and garage stored during the winter. All of the vehicles functions work properly and accurately. No leaks or harsh vibrations, runs like a champ. I drive this car regularly and it has never left me stranded.

Car’s black interior is in immaculate condition with no cracks, rips or tears ANYWHERE! Black cloth seats with grey carpet and mats. Brand new black head liner and black t-top shades. Paint has its fair share of quirks here and there but shines just like new, the car is free of body work and any major dents/scratches. Full power options, power drivers and passenger side mirror, power rear veiw mirror, power drivers seat, power windows and power pull down rear hatch. Features a new alpine CDA-9856 with exclusive full speed iPod integration, this allows you to control the ipod through the cd/wma/mp3/ipod/Sirius/hd ready radio. Brand new as of 8/20/11 boss bass 1500 12” low profile subwoofer. Nothing huge but it fills the lows a bit better than the factory speakers. 5% limo tint on the driver/passenger and rear hatch new as of May 2011. Power windows, locks, mirrors, driver’s seat and rear view mirrors. Car comes with a Viper 2way responder alarm that gives the car keyless entry and a remote rear hatch. Will come with the car cover as well. And as a note, everything works in this car, ac, heat, windows, hatch and all of the illumination bulbs are functioning.

Some of the more recent maintenance done between April 1st and August 1st 2011
Recent tune up including:
E3 Plugs
MSD Wires 8mm wires
MSD Distributor cap & rotor
MSD Blaster coil
Oil change and filter with Mobile1 high mileage full synthetic
Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires (under 1000 miles)
Ram Performance high torque pressure plate with ARP Bolts
Ram Performance Stock Replacement Flywheel with ARP Bolts
Ram Performance throw out bearing
Clutch slave cylinder
Pro-5.0 short throw shifter:
#3 red pool ball shifter (real ball)
New shift boot
Felpro rear main seal
Summit double roller timing set
Felpro timing cover gasket
ARP 12 point timing cover bolts
HID 6000K Headlights from DDM tuning with glass projector lenses

I am in no way in a hurry to sell this car. Just seeing if it might be time to get a new toy. Hoping that it will go to another enthusiast who will take care of it as much as I have. No joy rides or tire kickers.

SERIOUS BUYERS/OFFERS ONLY!

I know these cars are becoming harder and harder to find in this kind of condition short of a museum piece.

Email with your questions and I will deem if it is necessary to talk further. Cash in hand payment to release the car. Car will not be sold or driven away until check’s clear the bank.

Please email with any questions.

No trades please.

Feel free to email me with your your questions, interest at matt.banks.53@gmail.com

That's nada book value on a option-less 87 Iroc. Seems kind of low for a full power version (PW, PS, PB, PM, PPH, PDS,) with 100% working systems right down to the power pull down hatch and 3rd brake light.

I guess I am high, will entertain offers but 6500 seems low as a starting point. Guess its a good thing I'm not in a rush.

your car looks great... Compared to some i have seen, cars like ours are far and few in between... Stand firm on $7K! Mileage is what kills you.. My 87 has only 79K on it... and i have a new Crate 350 in it... GLWS, Very nice IROC.

Re: Clean unmolested 1987 Camaro Iroc-Z28 5.0L/T-5

Yeah, don't feel bad. My '88 has less than 10,000 miles on it and people on here told me I would be lucky to get $7k for it. You can't get a friggin' Hyundai with less than 10,000 miles on it for what I was asking. For an enthusiast site, I'm not sure why everyone is so intent on insisting that these cars are nearly worthless. They are hard to find in good condition and that's why they are increasing in value. NADA counts on the vast majority being beaten into the ground. Yours looks clean. Nice ride. GLWS!

Thanks for the compliment. I try really hard to keep it nice. Less than 10K!! Damn on ebay they BIN for around 25K!

These forums are not necessarily accurate as to pricing. Because everyone on these already has a Camaro of some sort. Generally speaking, in my experience, buying and selling on forums is 20% lower than what its worth every time.

6,500 was a selling point you could choose to stay firm with any pricing you like.
Very few 3rdgens are being sold on this site.

I agree!!!! Nice car!!!! Very clean. It is getting harder and harder to find a nice original 3rd gen these days. I have a near mint 86 IROC I've owned for 16 years, and 2nd owner. I won't even consider selling mine due to this exact situation. I would stick to what you want for money, not worth selling unless you get close to what you want. Just too hard to find a nice original, and replace it. The right person who appreciates it will come along. GLWS

I will give you 3200, high mileage is the reason. It's nice but so many miles. Let me know what your decision is.

I think it's just the economy right now. Car is worth the asking price its just that those who have the money and wanting something like our cars are the older generation and are more interested in the first gen camaros.

Ok, that's fine. I stand by my offer, I do see where you are coming from thinking I am low balling, I understand. I just feel that in the current economy, that many miles is not worth over 3500 at the most. Say what you want but that is how I feel. Thanks for the reply though.

Fair offers are offers in the neighborhood of the asking price. I do have issues with low balling morons! I do not need to sell this car. If it does not sell I will put storage insurance on it and put it in my climate controlled shop for the winter and wait until spring.

Re: Clean unmolested 1987 Camaro Iroc-Z28 5.0L/T-5

I'd give $6,500 for it if I had the spare cash. It looks like a very well maintained car, who cares about the mileage. These cars were built to be driven. A well maintained, driven car is more desirable to me than one that has sat for 20 years and every hose has rotted from simply aging.

I know pictures can hide a lot, but from the looks of it, it looks like a 80,000-100,000 mile car. Very nice

Hey man, no reason to get angry and start calling people morons. I have been watching this site for a couple years now, finally just joined, and there seems to be a lot of good people on here but seriously, if your going to be on here, I would think the Admins would appreciate some respect across the board. A simple, no I'm not really willing to go that low, thanks for looking, would of been fine. But when you go and call me a moron, that's just not cool.

Re: Clean unmolested 1987 Camaro Iroc-Z28 5.0L/T-5

Some people will try to beat a person down on price no matter what your asking price. That said, the market price of your car is whatever you and the buyer agree on! In my opinion, it is hard to beat the performance/price point of the 4th gens...but I love the styling of the 3rd gens better. Clean examples like yours are hard to find and I would assume with each passing day even harder. I also have a very original unmolested 87 iroc with the hard to find combination 5spd, limited slip rear, engine oil cooler, 4 wheel discs and 3:45 rear with under 100K miles. Car is in pretty good condition but does not look nearly as good as yours because it's original red paint is faded. Also have minor rub mark on on pass fender and door. I don't do body work or paint so when I factor the cost of getting this work done right I would rather purchase a clean example like yours. You are just too far from me to consider the purchase.

Get the price you want or just hold on to it!

Sold for asking price to a local buyer in Michigan.

Sorry Chris, I didn't get to much of a chance to get back to you as the deal started two weeks ago but they just needed to see the car and it was sold as soon as they walked up to it.

To All you low ballers....What now?!
