1984 Z28 H.O. / L69 For Sale
I really hate to do this but I have to sell my 1984 Z28 to make way for a new addition to the family. She has 76,000 miles on the body, about 2000 on the rebuilt original L69, and 20-30 miles since the top end rebuild.
I've documented everything from the day I bought it in Oklahoma until a few weeks ago when I installed a SMI Quadrajet on it. I have a phonebooks worth of receipts for everything I and the previous owner have fix/replaced.
Highlights:
Rebuilt original L69 with about 2000 miles and ported and polished 416 heads and comp cam valvetrain with about 30 miles.
Dyno Don headers and y-pipe with SLP LM2 with 30 miles.
Bowtie Overdrives 700R4 with 15-20 miles on it.
1LE brake setup
New Z-rated BFG tires with about 200 miles.
Needs:
I currently do not have a hood on the car because of the Edelbrock RPM intake but this can be fixed with a different air cleaner or small cowl.
I have not turned the motor over in about 8 months. I am stationed away from home so it's just been sitting in my parents' garage.
When I parked the car the engine was running very well but I did have a carb/vacuum issue that should be cured with the new SMI carb. The transmission works perfectly and has zero issues. The rearend was also serviced and the internals looked nice and clean.
Exterior:
The body itself is in good shape. The car sat in the sun most of its life so there is sun fading on the rear bumper and it has some lower valence knicks on the front.
Electrical:
I've done some rewiring and put wire looms under the hood. Everything works to include the new window motors.
Interior:
The interior is very nice. I've installed a 145 mph speedo that works correctly. The interior is original but the driver seat was professionally upholstered by the previous owner. When I parked it I was having some issue with the A-pillar trim and have not had a chance to reinstall.
I want to be as honest as possible so I will answer any and all questions. I will do my best to get pictures upon request but I honestly believe that my build thread has almost everything that could be asked for.
I have a lot of the original parts in boxes that will come with the car. I also have a complete and perfect set of 4th generation seats that came out of a 2002 Camaro with only 10k miles.
I'm asking $4,000 firm. The car is in Aledo, TX which is about 15 miles west of Ft. Worth. I am currently stationed in Pensacola so my father will be the actual person to contact to come look at it.
If you have any questions at all please call or text me at 817-988-8921.
Jacob

Wish I was in the market for a new Z...
Questions on your Q-Jet.. What's the difference between a factory Q-Jet and a SMI Q-Jet ... and where did you buy the new carb sensors & pigtails ?
Thanks,
Rod

When I originally rebuilt the electronic quadrajet I purchased all of my sensors through NAPA.
