Hi Everyone

I am new to the form.... little about me......

I drive a 2007 Toyota Tacoma Xrunner.... mines the blue one.... I lover her...... Pic below

My ex and I broke up and I got our trans Am....well after 2 years of searching for it.... I know nothing about this car..... the crazy ex wouldn't even give me the keys......but he got to keep other things..... I got the car ...it was his choice...

I have a million and one questions and I really don't even know what I have...... but I figured this was the best source of info and help.... and hopefully I can have my own build thread soon

There is a F-body club that holds a yearly show in Etobicoke if you are in the area. Good place to meet people with similar interests.

Re: New Here

Well from what i can see you have a 87-89 Trans Am GTA. Gran Turismo Americano. In very good condition indeed. I would love to have that Wrap around spoiler. But anyways, your car probably has the throttle body injected (TBI) Lo3 170 Horsepower 305(5.0 Liter). Not a favorite among Third Gen owners but it gets the job done. It looks like yours has had the AC delete as well. Which means you have no air conditioning mainly for more room and slightly better performance. Although yours could also have the 5.7 Liter 350. The standard suspension for the GTA was the WS6 Level III Performance Suspension. Yours also had the 14 or 16 inch Crosslace rims. Which either came black or gold, gold was mainly the factory color for the GTA's.

Also as i mentioned before. You have the wrap around spoiler. Thats my favorite. Mine originally had one but the previous owner put a Firebird hatch on mine. The biggest problem with those is the fact that they rot out so easily. Youll be able to tell it is if the spoiler is separating from the glass on the sides of the glass.
Also, if yours is a true GTA and your ex didnt just put the emblems on,then the car has a digital dash. Like this,

You have a very nice car indeed. Also seems as though you have an aftermarket exhaust maybe? The tips dont look factory to me. And your rims look like the older Mustang rims. but im not 100%. and nor am i an expert. I own a 1988 Trans Am That is identical to yours other than the fact of yours being a GTA

But yes nice car again Haha. In case you cant tell,i love it. It also looks like you might have spacers on the rear wheels? Yours is also Triple black, like mine. You also have T Tops, which is great in summer. And it looks like your body has virtually no flaws? Thats awesome. Take good care of that car. Not too many of those around. Im the only one in my area for about 200 miles that has a black Trans Am.

That's CCFBG. We do lots of other stuff and are a very helpfull bunch too. You have a Trans Am, not a GTA like dylanjessy said. GTAs didn't come with vented fenders and they all had TPI engines, not the TBI that's in your car and, just for the record, the digi dashes were an option availablee for GTAs not standard equipment on them.
BTW I've seen your xrunner at quite a few shows. Great looking truck.

Re: New Here

Thanks Guy... I appreciate all the warm welcomes.

I am still learning about the car... I don't think it is a true GTA.... I know he did put in the 350 Small Block (or so he and a lot of gear heads that have looked at it for me) and did some work on it.... it has been lowered and has a larger exhaust......I think he bought the rims at a different time..... I don't know a lot of things he told me turned out to be lies so you guys prob know more then me

I can't wait to get it out of storage so I can put it on the streets

lb9GTA - Thanks a lot.... it is a somewhat unique truck...I do love her to pieces.... and don't want to choose between entering that and the trans am in the shows but some shows the truck isn't welcome. Next time say hi....hopefully I will be in the trans am...... also which shows????

dylanjesse - Thanks.... yes it is rotting out at the spoiler.... sucks but its not bad just minimal right now..... I think I will leave it this year and try and get it back on the road.... if I have to many problems I might sell it but I do love it and the sound of it purring. I can't wait to pull off the T-tops and cruise.... and having the t-tops and an extra set might come in handy

Can't wait to meet everyone

Re: New Here

Looks to me that you have a 1985-1986 Trans Am because of the fender vents that were not implemented on the GTA models from 1987 to 1992. The rear hatch is definitely 1987-1990 because the third brake light is in the center of the wrap around spoiler and not high mounted at the top center of the rear windshield. What is the VIN on the vehicle. You can also check the RPO codes to verify everything.

Don't forget the largest f-body show in Fort Erie June 1-3.

Some of our Durham members will probably convoy down Saturday morning. Always good to have one more car.

Thanks for the plug about the show 85 FB Transam, as Billy mentioned this year is our 10th show and it will be in Fort Erie Ontario June 1-3rd (10 mins from Niagara Falls)

We expect over 200 cars this year and the Fbod Father himself GM Camaro (then Fbody) Marketing Manager Scott Settlemire will be there for the show and banquet on Saturday!

Also on Saturday we have a Police Escorted 1 hr cruise which we expect over 100 cars to take part!

Anyhow for more on the show visit
http://www.ccfbg.com/juneshow/juneshow2012.htm

Nice TA Canadian Girl! before CCFBG started out we all hung out here, great people on here and very knowledgeable!

Like some the other guys mentioned take a photo of the sticker of the 3 digit codes in the console and check them on the forum mainpage where it says RPO codes.

The big codes are G92, G80, the TA guys could help me here with the big other ones specific to Trans AM's I'm a Camaro guy .

Drive it and enjoy it, make sure you come out and meet some of the great people we have and others on here!

Also the section Third Generation of Ontario is where more of the Ontario guys post.
